Did You Know...

... that the King of the Tunnel joins Airspeed in 2006?

NSL Profile Thomas Hughes
posted Dec 16th, 2005 - The completion of the newest NSL Profile comes at the right time. Thomas Hughes had provided the first part of his career story years ago. The NSL News was already interested in one of the shooting stars in Formation Skydiving competition long before the young 4-way world class competitor appeared frequently in the NSL News.

His NSL Profile has now finally been completed, and the story begins in England and a in very different element - water. Thomas Hughes was already a water skiing competitor before he moved to Florida. Then he found skydiving and the SkyVenture Orlando wind tunnel where he soon became the "King of the Tunnel".

Thomas made headlines in the past with DeLand Tunnel Rage in 2000 and the British national team Sebastian XL. He continued to find the NSL News attention with Arizona Blade and when he moved to Florida together with Natasha Montgomery and formed DeLand Fire.

His double citizenship put him once again in the spotlight when the rules for international eligibility were discussed, based on the "Pete Allum Case". Two NSL News stories had recently covered Thomas' position in this scenario, the first one on October 23 and a follow-up story after the World Cup 2005 on November 8.

The NSL News had continued to collect information for the NSL Profile in the meantime, while Thomas Hughes was busy considering his options for the 2006 season. His decision came almost on the same day when the NSL News completed the profile story.

Thomas Hughes will join the Arizona Airspeed line-up for the 2006 season. The NSL News will follow up with more detailed information and ask Thomas for the most current update of the Airspeed 2006 line-up and the training plans for next year. Stay tuned for more information coming soon.
