Did You Know...

... that Perris Fury completed the line-up for a busy 2006 season?

Perris Fury 2006 line-up with Josh Hall, Christy Frikken, Karen Lewis, Uwe Steuwe, Chris Farina
posted Feb 2nd, 2006 - The NSL News reported on September 17, 2005, (did you know) "...that Perris Fury is looking for a future world champion?" The team from Perris Valley Skydiving began early last year to look for a committed player to replace the player coaches Dan BC and Mark Kirkby in the inside center position.

Team speaker Christy Frikken explained by then that Perris Fury had big plans for the 2006 season and the near future: "In 2006 we want to take it to the next level. Christy, Josh, Uli and Lew are returning with Dan BC as the coach. We are looking for a highly motivated 4-way maniac to join us. Previous competition experience is preferred but not required. Most importantly, we want a teammate that is committed to the team, loves it as much as we do and will put 110% into every part of the training."

Perris Fury has found the "highly motivated 4-way maniac" with Chris Farina who will take the power position as Fury's new center inside. Dan BC will continue to work with the team as the head coach.

Chris Farina won the Intermediate Class competition of the USPA Nationals 2001 with Formula 4 and trained and competed with team "Spark" throughout the 2005 season in Arizona. Mark Kirkby was Spark's player coach, and the team finished with a 14.4 average in the Open Class competition of the USPA Nationals 2005.

The complete Fury line-up for the 2006 season consists of Josh Hall (Point), Christy Frikken (Outside Center), Chris Farina (Inside Center), Uli Stuewe (Tail), Karen Lewis (Camera).

The team will continue to train in Perris. However, the schedule is based on a full-time effort for the team members who want to take the performance to the next level. New team member Chris Farina explained that Fury's focus for 2006 is to form the team and begin with the training:

"Although training will be the focus of the season, we are also looking forward to the many events and coaching options we will have available throughout the year in Perris. All of the team members are full-time coaches, working through the great Perris Performance Plus program."

The Fury members also work together with the new Southwest Skydiving League Manager Erin Murphy who is located in Perris, as well. Each of the team members is involved in team building efforts and load organizing on weekends. Erin Murphy recently explained her "Team Network" project in an article for the February issue of USPA's Parachutist.

Outside Center Christy Frikken runs an additional project that fits into the full-time schedule of Perris Fury, a "Tunnel League" at Perris SkyVenture. Chris Farina also highlighted a special event that is scheduled for March 2006 and continues with the team building efforts:

"One event that we would like to highlight is a team building event we are hosting on March 22 - 26. During that week the entire team will be offering coaching in all aspects of 4-way, from creeping to exits and block techniques. Everyone is welcome, whether as a member of a 4-way team or not."

The first competition of the 2006 season is the SSL Valentine's Meet on February 18 - 19 at Skydive Arizona in Eloy. The NSL News will be live on site, and Perris Fury with the 2006 line-up will hopefully show the first results of the training efforts this year.
