The top contenders of the AAA Class competition in the U.S.A. have completed the team forming process. DeLand Majik was the last one to announce the line-up for the 2005 season. Additional team forming, change of line-ups and recruiting efforts have also taken place everywhere in the country between the end of the 2004 season and the beginning of the 2005 season, and it is still in progress. The NSL News will try to offer as much information as possible as of teams for this year's events.
Elsinore GT recently provided information of the team plans for the new season. The team of the Southwest Skydiving League was formed in 2002 by John Craig, Alex Pincus and Steve Miller. Player coach Ian Bobo filled the open slot at GT's first appearance at the USPA Championship 2002. GT finished in 8th position of the Advanced Class with a 12.3 average. GT had also attended two meets of the Southwest Skydiving League 2002 (12.3 - 11.8) before finishing the season in Ottawa.
Elsinore GT continued in 2003 with Steve Miller, John Craig, Scott Latinis, Brian Vande Krol and Jonathan Tagle on video. EGT 2003 attended four meets of the Southwest Skydiving League (12.3 - 12.3 - 14.5 - 10.0) and traveled to the east coast in pursuit of an Advanced Class medal at the USPA Championship 2003. EGT ended up tied with Juggernaut in 4th place and a 13.4 meet average in Lake Wales.
The EGT race for the USPA medals in the Advanced Class was rewarded with silver in 2004. Steven Miller, Brian Vande Krol, Joshua Hall, John Craig and Jonathan Tagle on video finished two points behind the gold medal winner, Elsinore Adrenaline, in Perris with a 13.0 meet average. EGT had attended three SSL meets the same year (12.2 - 14.3 - 13.5) before winning the Advanced Class silver medals at the USPA Championship.
Team speaker Steve Miller now announced the EGT plans for the 2005 season. Following the silver medal Advanced Class finish at the 2004 USPA Championship, Elsinore GT returns in 2005 for its fourth year of competition with a new look and new determination. The 2005 line-up consists of Steve Miller, Robert May, Jon Martens, John Craig, Eric Rushing and Jonathan Tagle.
With 2004 tail flyer Josh Hall moving to a more "full time" opportunity at point with a yet to be named Perris team and 2004 outside center Brian Vande Krol departing for the tail slot on Arizona Directe, Original GT member and inside center Steve Miller will be joined by Robert "Bobby" May at tail, Jon Martens at outside center and Eric Rushing at tail.
In 2004, Martens flew inside center for USPA Advanced Class gold medalist Elsinore Adrenaline, while Rushing flew tail for USPA Intermediate Class silver medalist Tye Breakers of the Northwest Skydiving League. Taking 2004 off from 4-way, May flew tail for Mr. Pink in 2003 as "Mr. Jade". Martens and May also formed the rear piece of 2001 USPA Intermediate Class champions, Formula 4.
Original GT member and point flyer John Craig will move to video, which he will share with EGT's 2004/05 camera flyer Jonathan Tagle, now a member of the PD Factory team. Craig will double as the team's alternate. Steve Miller added thanks to all of the team sponsors for their continued support. The team looks forward to another great season.
