SkyVenture Orlando has already confirmed its participation, while the NSL headquarters prepares the 2006 proposal for other SkyVenture wind tunnels in the USA. SkyVenture Perris and SkyVenture Arizona have already running operations, and the NSL would like to include both tunnels in the SkyVenture Competition 2006.
The newest SkyVenture wind tunnel will now open in Colorado, and the NSL headquarters will offer participation in the NSL SkyVenture Competition to SkyVenture Colorado, as well. The new Colorado Skydiving League Director, Travis Roth, has already prepared a tunnel league for his region in the 2006 season. A complete CSL 2006 update will follow soon.
The opening of SkyVenture Colorado was officially announced with a press release that arrived at the NSL headquarters a few days ago. The new wind tunnel is located at the outskirts of Denver, Colorado. More details can be found in the press release below, and also at SkyVenture Colorado's website.
Located in the Entertainment District of the Park Meadows Mall at 9230 Park Meadows Drive in Lone Tree, Colorado, SkyVenture Colorado features a state-of-the-art wind tunnel that creates a stream of air which can support people as they learn to fly. Through the use of the newest in air flow technology, flyers will also enjoy year round comfort as they experience flight using only their body!
"We are delighted to bring this unique and fun experience to our friends and neighbors here in Colorado," proclaimed Norm Rosendale, SkyVenture Colorado’s managing partner. Rosendale went on to say, "After my first flight at a SkyVenture facility several years ago, I knew that body flight was not only great fun, but that it is for just about everyone! Whether soaring like an eagle or moving through the air like a super hero, the dream of flight is a part of us all. SkyVenture Colorado is where that dream can come true!"
During training for his new instructors, Rosendale and his partners had friends and family come fly in the new tunnel. After watching people fly Rosendale remarked, "I know how much fun flying in the flight chamber is, but that thrill is almost matched watching others experience the joy of flight for the first time! I think we were correct when we called the SkyVenture Colorado experience; Pure Air-Pure Fun!"
Built by SkyVenture LLC, the world's leader in wind tunnel technology, the SkyVenture Colorado wind tunnel is the world's newest and most advanced. The tunnel is powered by four 300 horse power, clean running, electric motors which turn four of the most efficient propellers on earth. Together they create a stream of air which moves rapidly enough to cushion and support people as they fly! Advanced computers combine with variable frequency drives to enable operators to instantly adjust the speed of the air to make everyone’s flight smooth and FUN! The patented airflow design keeps the flight chamber at comfortable temperatures all year round making SkyVenture Colorado America’s first and only all weather indoor flying facility!
