Did You Know...

... that DeLand Fire members visited the NSL News for a live interview?

PD Factory Team
posted Mar 30th, 2006 - The NSL News invited the Italian team Sinapsi PD to visit the NSL office in DeLand for an interview after the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2006. The video file of the interview was uploaded with the NSL News story on March 24 and can still be viewed on NSL-TV.

DeLand Fire members Natasha Montgomery and Gary Smith accepted the next invitation and visited the NSL office in DeLand yesterday. The team is not complete at the moment since three of the Fire members, Shannon Pilcher, Ian Bobo and Jonathan Taggle, are also the heart and soul of the PD Factory Team.

Rob Wilson, PD's Marketing Manager, mentioned in his interview with the NSL News on February 24 that the PD Factory Team members will travel to places that no skydivers have seen and discovered yet and present exciting footage to the skydiving community: "Our goal is to share their experiences with the whole skydiving community through more dynamic videos. So you'll see much more video exposure of the PD Factory Team to the skydiving community in the near future."

One of these trips to new places for new and exciting footage was scheduled right after the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2006, and the three DeLand Fire members are already in the French Alpes on their adventure for the PD Factory Team. However, Natasha Montgomery and Gary Smith made it to the NSL office and provided information and insights live in a very relaxed atmosphere. The video of the interview can be watched by clicking here.

Natasha Montgomery still had to deal with the recovery of the back injury and was exhausted at the final stretch of the 47-pointer jump. Injuries have been a part of DeLand Fire's team history, and the trip of their three PD Factory Team members to the French Alpes is in the back of their minds.

However, Gary Smith explained that the team stands fully behind their teammates' activities when DeLand Fire is not training or competing: "It's their job, and they are are very intelligent people. We trust that they know exactly what they are doing and calculate any risk very carefully."

The two Fire members in DeLand also commented their race with Italy's Sinapsi PD throughout the 10-round competition and evaluated the other top contenders at the Shamrock Showdown. This included the special situation of Gary Smith who is coaching the Norwegian top team Arcteryx.

Arcteryx is still training in DeLand, and the team has accepted the next invitation for an interview. The NSL News will follow up with a new round of NSL-TV before this new interview will be uploaded.
