Team 'Sinapsi' building on the 'hill'

posted Mar 18th, 2004 - The NSL-TV page has grown dramatically this morning. It was time for round three of the SSL Valentine's Meet 2004. At the same time, round eight of the NSL Championship 2003 was overdue. Finally, the next step of the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2004 coverage has been completed with the first round of the meet now posted on NSL-TV.The coverage of the NSL Championship 2003 at Fantasy of Flight will soon be complete with only two more rounds to come. It might look like old footage dated of November 2003. However, the most interesting aspect is probably the fact that both top teams, DeLand Majik and Sinapsi PD, competed at both events. The NSL audience can now directly compare the performances not only between these two teams at each of the two meets. It is also intersting to see how both teams compare with themselves between November 2003 and March 2004.

Majik was clearly the stronger team at SkyQuest 2003 and dominated this round in all aspects. The DeLand team had the faster average times for both blocks (1.9 seconds - 2.1 seconds for Block 13; 2.7 seconds - 3.0 seconds for Block 14) and also the better quicker work (1.39 seconds - 1.46 seconds average). The FSL Shamrock Showdown began differently though. Both teams now went neck-to-neck all the way in round one. Sinapsi was slightly ahead going into the last page and still the race for the 27th point in time only by a few hundreds of a second. However, the Italian team had the highest score on the board, even though Majik completed 27 points in time. The home team had lost the rhythm in the middle of the jump, which caused a penalty situation. Sinapsi had taken the first lead of the meet.

There is another opportunity to compare jumps in a different way, this time across the country. The sequences of the first round of the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2004 and of round three of the SSL Valentine's Meet 2004 both included Block 17 (Danish T - Murphy). Six of the best teams in the world, DeLand Majik, Sinapsi PD, Genesis, Arizona Airspeed, Airspeed Dragon and the Golden Knights, show their techniques for this popular block.

AA Class 'Money Shot' in DeLand

The five jumps featured on the front page also include Money Shot's round eight of the AA Class competition at the NSL Championship 2003. This round was probably the best jump of the Midwest Skydiving League team in November 2003 at Fantasy of Flight. The very clean performance was rewarded with a win of two points over the Air Force team from Colorado. Money Shot cut the Air Force lead from four to only two points with two more rounds to come. It was a meet again in the AA Class.
