... that the biggest meet weekend of the 2004 season is coming up in the USA and Europe?
posted May 14th, 2004 -
The NSL 2004 season has already shown great competition and provided a lot of new information. However, the previous events have almost been nothing compared to the upcoming meet weekend. It might turn out as the busiest weekend in the league history. Six of the NSL leagues have scheduled their meets for May 15 - 16, and will begin with the action tomorrow morning. Texas, Indiana and the Northern Plains launch their 2004 season, while Carolina and Florida have already been in full swing. The weather situation looks perfect for Texas, Florida and the Northern Plains in Iowa. South Carolina seems to be in good shape for Saturday, while a weather front currently moves through Indiana.
The European Skydiving League has the biggest weekend of the 2004 season, as well. Competitions will be held in the Netherlands, Switzerland, Spain and Germany. Several teams have already registered and their names posted at the ESL website. The ESL teams compete in the AAA Class and also in the newly synchronized A Class. All ESL and NSL teams will once again use the same competition draw, which will be posted Saturday morning in Europe and this evening in the USA on Skyleague.com's front page. As ususal, the NSL webmaster offers Omniskore's printout options directly from the website. ESL and NSL have been taking turns in providing the competition draw. The Dutch Handicap Cup in the Netherlands is responsible for the sequences this weekend.
World class scores can be expected, as well as many races for positions within the leagues. DeLand Majik will compete at the FSL meet in DeLand, and the Italian national female team, Kewara, has also signed up for the same meet. The Golden Knights will hopefully join the Carolina Skydiving League this time. The Texas Skydiving League has always been one of the strongest leagues in the country and will surely bring out great results at the season opener at Skydive Spaceland. Indiana Skydiving League Director Randy Connell expects record participation at his first meet of the season. ESL Director Willy Boykens also mentioned that there is a chance that France Maubeuge might joing this weekend's competition during the team's training camp in LaPalisse, France. There is a good reason to check in once in a while at the NSL website. Scores will be posted as soon as possible on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean.
