Did You Know...

... that the weather front never moved further and through Indiana last weekend?

Weather front over Indiana between Friday and Sunday
posted May 17th, 2004 - Good news and bad news arrived at the NSL headquarters at the same time. New scores from the Dutch Handicap Cup could be added to last weekend's scoring overview, the NSL-TV prepares the showing of DeLand Majik's 41-point jump, and Majik member Joey Jones visited the NSL office this morning for an interview. The sad news come from Indiana where the weather front that covered the area on Friday never moved much further during the whole weekend. Here is ISL Director Randy Connell's meet report.
Indiana Skydiving League
The IndianaSkydiving League is paying in 2004 for the magnificent weather that we got last year. Meet 1 of this season was effectively washed out by a stalled cold front. Saturday morning dawned cold, wet and ugly and there was not much improvement over the course of the day. As time wore on, the several teams present held doggedly onto their persistence in the hopes that positive thoughts could alter the drizzle. Meet Coaches David Hart and Bob Akers (from Team Fastrax) hung in there and spent their time with the teams, reviewing everything from engineering to dive preparations and visualization. All of the teams had much praise for David and Bob, who volunteered their time to come help drive FS skydiving in the region to a new and better level. Everyone looks forward to seeing then at each of the meets throughout the season! With evening bearing down, the meet was officially postponed until Sunday hoping to take advantage of the improving forecast.Sunday showed slight improvement as teams began arriving at Skydive Wayne County at 7:00am to begin preparations. However, it was not to be. The low clouds and general gloom persisted throughout the day. That afternoon, with only a very little change from the morning and a forecast that just would not cooperate, the decision was made to call the meet.As the League Director, I would like to take the time to thank everyone who took the time to come out and hope for their patience and good humor, David and Bob for their time, energy and knowledge and Skydive Wayne County for working with me throughout the weekend!!!! I look forward to seeing you all on June 19th at Skydive Greene County for Meet 2!!Blue Skies!Randy Connell, ISL Director
