... that the NSL SkyVenture Competition scores of the July 31 weekend are posted?

SkyVenture Orlando
posted Aug 9th, 2004 - The NSL SkyVenture Competition results of the July 31 weekend are now posted in the overview table below. Teams of the Georgia, Carolina and Great Lakes Skydiving Leagues competed for the highest scores and free SkyVenture tunnel time that weekend.

There were additional competitions in Europe (Austria, United Kingdom, Belgium, Norway), which did not use the same competition draw as the NSL teams. The events in the UK, Norway and Belgium were the national championships. The NSL News will follow up soon with scores and stories.

Georgia Skydiving League team Inviscid won the AAA Class competition before and after handicap with a 13.5 meet average after six rounds. Inviscid's 2004 line-up consists of Alex Jordaan, Craig Sellars, Brian Timberlake, Allison Yasitis and Randy Cooke on video.

GSL AAA Class team Inviscid
It was the fourth competition in 2004 for the new line-up with South African competitor Alex Jordaan who joined the team last year and replaced original team member Jonathan Barlett for the 2004 season. The team name used to be GT Inviscid when all original team members still studied at Georgia Tech, the same university where the DeLand Genesis/PD Blue members all met each other (Shannon Pilcher, David VanGreuningen, Ian Bobo, Kyle Collins, Eric Taylor) and launched their skydiving career.

GT Inviscid was still one of the youngest teams in the country when the original line-up competed at the USPA Nationals in 2002 at Skydive Chicago, where the team finished with an 8.3 average in the Intermediate Class, and at the NSL Championship 2002. Two years later, three original team members (Sellars, Timberlake, Yasitis) have arrived at a 13.5 average in the AAA Class last weekend and are ready to take the top position in Georgia with the potential to continue the team's progression to even higher scoring levels. Inviscid already managed to leave the GSL veterans of Kinesis one point behind after challenging the other GSL AAA Class teams throughout the 2004 season. There is a very good chance that the NSL News will have to write more stories covering the young team in the near future.
CaSL AA Class team Fox Force 4
The competition in the AA Class was very close after handicap. Kaizen of the Great Lakes Sktydiving League was clearly ahead of all other teams before handicap with a 13.0 meet average after six rounds, followed by Carolina Ice with an 11.0 average after five rounds. The five rounds of the meet at Skydive Coastal Carolinas counted for the NSL SkyVenture Competition, and a team from Carolina also won the 30 minutes of free SkyVenture tunnel time after handicap.

The 2004 season is the second year of 4-way competition for Fox Force 4. The CaSL team had won SkyVenture tunnel time already two times last year. The 2003 line-up with Portia Hill, Pam Riggs, Laura Kraus, Rhonda Roper and Chad Wilcox on video attended all six CaSL meets last year (7.2 - 7.0 - 5.8 - 7.2 - 8.2 - 7.8) and continued with three of the same team members in 2004. Lauris Trimble replaced Rhonda Roper, and the team had additional alternates filling slots this year until the final line-up of the 2004 season was recently completed. Fox Force's 2004 scoring average (6.2 - 9.0 - 9.4) was still consistently going up and got to its peak at the last meet. The reward comes with 30 minutes of free SkyVenture tunnel time.

GLSL A Class team Let Go of my Ears
Two teams of the Great Lakes Skydiving League fought it out at AerOhio for ten minutes of SkyVenture tunnel time in the A Class competition. Let Go of My Ears won before and after handicap with a 9.0 average after six rounds.

The Rookie/Introductory Class had great participation once again that weekend, especially in the Carolina Skydiving League where four teams competed from full altitude and with 50 seconds of working time. The CaSL teams came up with impressive scores, and Insane in the Airplane finished on top of the pack before and after handicap with an 18.5 meet average. This was the third competition for Insane, with Richard Altan, Charles Grubbs, Angela Jones, Scott Mebust and Charles Oxrieder in the line-up this time. The 18.5 meet average was also the highest result in the history of this competition class.
