... that the new round of NSL-TV features teams from Brazil and Florida?
posted May 26th, 2006 -
New NSL-TV videos have been uploaded while the first scores from Denmark came in. The national team for the World Meet 2006, the DaneZ, continue on the high performance level where they finished after the ten rounds of the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2006. The "DFU Open" in Denmark is only two rounds old at this point. However, the scores of these two rounds already indicate that the DaneZ are once again in great shape.
The meet videos of the Brazilian teams include another national 4-way team. As the DaneZ will represent Denmark at the World Meet 2006, CTR Optimum will represent Brazil in August in Germany. The NSL News introduced the team already within the news story on May 11.
This time, round one of the meet on May 13 shows CTR Optimum in action, together with two other Brazilian teams that competed on the same weekend at the same location. All three teams competed in the AAA/Open Class competition and finished far away from each other.
CTR Optimum shows the highest level of 4-way competition in Brazil at this point, and the Airspeed signature can easily be detected in the team's style. Craig Girard has been coaching the team in the past years, and CTR Optimum is currently in Arizona for the team's next training camp.
The videos of the Florida Skydiving League show the second round of the May meet. The FSL competition was a part of the record weekend on May 20 when a total of 62 teams from nine different leagues competed at the same time. AAA Class team Teiwaz Lake Wales finished in third place out of 24 teams, and A Class team Skydive City took the first place out of 13 teams that weekend.
Skydive City's A Class team could have finished the meet with an even better result than the posted 8.8 average. The video shows that the Star as the exit formation caused serious problems, and the first scoring formation was completed at 13.6 seconds into the working time. The finish of Block 21 (Zig Zag - Marquis) did not come easily for the Z-Hills team, as well. However, the 8.8 average was the best result of the 2006 season, and the performance quality promises more good jumps to come.
Teiwaz Lake Wales lost a scoring point due to an incomplete finish of Block 16 (Compressed Accordeon - Box). Five other teams beat the team's 13-pointer in this round, with Elsinore Gravity posting the highscore of 19 point. UK's AirKix scored 17 points, and the Austrian Monkey Circus was next with 15 point in time.
