Did You Know...

... that Carolina Ice defended the Carolina Skydiving League Championship 2004?

CaSL Champion 2003 and 2004: Carolina Ice
posted Sep 16th, 2004 - The final meet of the Carolina Skydiving League 2004 was held at Carolina Sky Sports on September 11. Good weather and a fast FrankenOtter allowed the twelve registered teams to complete all of the scheduled rounds with time to spare. A special thanks to the hosts of the meet, Paul and Nancy Fayard, for providing excellent facilities, staff and aircraft for a safe and successful weekend.

The five teams in the Introductory Class had four rounds with 50 seconds of working time to sort out the medals. Loose Change with 42 points, a pick up team with Steve Johnson, Stuart Wood, Kim Walker and Sherry Copley, won the bronze medal. A score of 55 points earned Two EZ with Brian Ball, Katie Sell, Heather Burton and Greg Haberman, together for their second meet, the silver medal. Running away with 77 points and the gold medal were Charles Grubbs, Angela Jones, Charles Oxrieder and Scott Mebust of Insane in the Plane.

The CaSL league champions come from the AA/Intermediate Class with a raw score of 62 points. They won all four of the previous meet championships and finished the season with a 10.6 average. The league congratulates Carolina Ice for their second consecutive CaSL Championship.

All of the videographers did a superb job, which made choosing one for the Best Camera award a real challenge. We should all be thankful to have such a talented pool of videographers committed to providing the judges with the best video possible. This meet's Best Camera award went to Rich Altan of Insane in the Plane.

I would like to thank all of the competitors and the drop zones who helped make this a successful season. I hope to see all of you next year, and bring your friends.

Thank you, Randy Garman, CaSL Director
