Did You Know...

... that the "Daily SkyQuest 2004 Video Show" will offer dinner, beer and entertainment?

Fantasy of Flight in the early morning
posted Oct 27th, 2004 - The NSL Championship 2004 will once again be the most competitive event of SkyQuest 2004. The NSL News will soon introduce the already registered teams and offer insights. However, the SkyQuest atmosphere has still always been very casual, and the teams competed for NSL trophies, medals and the last scores of the season while enjoying the best and most exciting facilities of any skydiving event in the world.

Even though SkyQuest began with the NSL Championship competition, the other events are just as competitive. The participants of the Kaleidoscope Dives and Team Elite have no opponents and rivals, however, they are still very eager to perform on their personal best and the highest group level. This competitive attitude resulted in excellent skydiving quality in the previous years.

The remaining two events are very competitive by nature. Accuracy competition is one of the oldest events of skydiving competition. Event manager Nancy LaRiviere is one of the most experienced and successful Accuracy competitors in the USA and has been a member of the US national teams for many years. She has organized the Accuracy part of SkyQuest from the very beginning in 2001.

One of the newest and recently hottest skydiving events has been a part of SkyQuest from the very beginning, as well. The Fantasy Swoop is probably the most dynamic event of Skyquest. Each round of the Fantasy Swoop requires the competitors to actually make contact with the water before they control their high performance wings to a precision landing. Pete Allum organized the event in 2001, Lyle Presse in 2002, Sonic in 2003. Chris Hayes puts it together in 2004.

More details of the events will follow. Each event takes place at the same time and requires good coordination. This format is not only interesting and entertaining for the spectators. The participants of all events have enjoyed watching the athletes and performances of other events during their own short breaks.

The whole crowd of participants then mingles at the end of the day when debriefing and preparation for the next day has been completed. This year will make the end of the day activities even more enjoyable. SkyQuest management and Fantasy of Flight have organised the "SkyQuest Dinner Banquet" in the previous years. It was a fine dining experience in the theme park's "Officer's Club".

SkyQuest 2002 Dinner Banquet
This year, Fantasy of Flight will offer a more casual dining experience on a lower price level for the SkyQuest 2004 participants. A food buffet will be offered on Friday and Saturday after sunset in the South Hangar for $15. The menus for both evenings have now been posted at the SkyQuest website. The SkyQuest management also committed to buying some kegs of beer, which will be available for free as long as it lasts.

The SkyQuest 2004 dining experience will also be different with a new idea that was developed at last year's event. The "Daily SkyQuest 2004 Video Show" will be presented to the crowd at dinner time. The participants will have the opportunity to watch their own dives, other events and ground footage while eating, drinking and chatting in the South Hangar. The SkyQuest management will assign one motivated and creative hobby filmmaker to put together a little show of the whole event each day. Applications for this fun job can be sent directly to the NSL headquarters. Free entrance to the theme park and access to the footage will be guaranteed.
