Blade attack on Punky Fish...
posted Nov 16th, 2004 - Skydive DeLand is currently hosting teams that train for the competition at the NSL Championship 2004 this weekend. Arizona Blade, Punky Fish and the Danez share the DeLand training facilities to get ready for the last meet of the year, SkyQuest 2004 at Fantasy of Flight. The 4-way competition begins Friday afternoon, ten rounds are scheduled for the three-day event.

Blade and Punky Fish know that both teams will probably have a close race and give each other a hard time all day long. The NSL News visited at the drop zone and caught some of the hostile action with the hidden camera. Hopefully, the teams will calm down until Friday and allow a peaceful event at Fantasy of Flight.

The NSL website has currently updated the team information of the participating teams at the NSL Championship 2004. The information can be viewed by visiting the event page and clicking on the team names in the scoring table.

The Danez took a day off, while Fantasy Swoop competitors were also busy fine-tuning the landing skills. Chris Hayes expects a group of 35 swoopers competing for currently $3,700 cash prizes. Several of BJ Worth's Kaleidoscope Divers have already been warming up for a few days in DeLand, as well. Wednesday will be BJ's official training day.

The NSL office and staff will already move to Fantasy of Flight in Lakeland tomorrow and prepare the event site. Thursday is the official day one of SkyQuest 2004 with Kaleidoscope Dives and training jumps for Team Elite with Guy Wright. Arizona Blade also plans to get familiar with the competition site by doing some training jumps at Fantasy of Flight on Thursday. The Fantasy Swoop pond will be available for training jumps, as well.

By the way: registered SkyQuesters of the 2004 event will have the unique opportunity to buy white, red or black NSL Gloves for $10 a pair, as long as they are available. They will only be sold to SkyQuesters on site at registration.
