Did You Know...

... that only two teams competed in Meet 2 of the Mideast Skydiving League?

Team Fastrax
posted Jun 19th, 2006 - Despite gorgeous weather, only two teams competed in Meet 2 of the Mideast Skydiving League held at Skydive Greensburg in Indiana. Team Fastrax was on the field but did not compete because the meet occurred during a hard-core training camp for them.

They opted to continue their regular training routine, however, they made themselves available for some fabulous coaching as a show of support for the league. Vortex took full advantage of the free coaching. John Hart provided excellent tips for the Vortex tail flyer, while Mark Kirkby and Doug Park provided superb coaching and dive engineering for the team as a whole. MESL AA Class team, Mystic Rhythmns, could not attend the meet because of tunnel training in Eloy.

Vortex
Ideal Cut and Vortex competed in the AA Class. Ideal Cut, a pickup team of experienced competitors, finished the meet with a solid 8.5 average. Vortex showed much promise even though they had never turned a single block together as a team. They posted a 4.0 average despite a couple less than perfect exits and non-judgeable video in round four.

We look forward to the return of Mystic Rhythmns in Meet 3. And we hope for a reappearance by Ideal Cut, who would be sure to give Mystic Rhythmns some head to head competition. And don't forget Vortex, who has made it a team goal to attend each and every MESL meet this season.

Blue Skies to All! Ed Lightle, MESL Communications Director
