Italy's 8-way team Ex3mo caught up with the German team FSC Remscheid after an excellent performance in round two. The Germans had a good jump jump and scored only one point below the current German 8-way highscore. However, it was not good enough to keep up with the outstanding Italian performance in this round, and the game is tied.
The Russian 8-way team seems to be out of contention after the 19-pointer in round two. The judges punished the communication error of the exit formation (Canadian Ts - Block 16) with two point deductions. The first formation of the block did not count as it was incomplete. The Monopods did not count, as well, since the inter did not show the required separation between all four pieces at the same time.
France broke the tie with Airspeed with a clean and fast 25-pointer in round two. Block 9 (Taj - Mahal) was the advantage for the French team in this round. The 8-way teams move on into round three. Italy and France have the momentum over Germany and USA going into the next round.
The meet is back on a weather hold, and Netherland's Punky Fish needs the time to recover from a bad accident. The 13-pointer in round two puts the team far behind the power curve. The team's tail dropped during a transition, and the judges did not push the scoring button five times before the recovery. Team captain Bert Hajee visited the judges later to check the scoresheet.
Fun Flag video evidence
In the meantime, the NSL News used secret connections to find out more about the Fun Flag and its current location. Somebody broke the truce and stole the flag during the competition. This is not fair play, and the NSL News calls for the current owners and for at least a new showing of the flag as soon as possible.
However, there is evidence, and the flag police might be able to use the video footage to find the thieves. The NSL News asks the audience to help. The video evidence of the theft can be viewed by clicking here. Any hints can be directed to the NSL News.
The teams are back on a call, stay tuned for more updates, scores and videos.
Sky Panthers Barkli get hammered on the hill in round two
Round two turned out to be a desaster for the leader after round one, the Russian Sky Panthers Barkli. DeLand Fire and the Russian team both completed 28 points within working time, but the scoresheets told a very different truth. Both teams lost points due to video angles on the hill - Fire only one and Russia four...
DeLand Fire's point deduction was questionable, and it was a split decision (3-2). The sinking sun made it difficult to see the Donut on the hill, which came also after a small level difference. The video of the jump will show the situation.
Sky Panthers Barkli lost another point shortly before the end of the working time (26th) and ended up with a score of 23 points. Result of the Russian desaster was the 3rd place after two rounds, three points behind the new leader, DeLand Fire.
Sinapsi PD lost another point, as well. All five judges did not like the completion of Block 3 (Side Flake Opal - Turf) at the very end of the skydive. It was the second infringement in two jumps for the Italian team, which holds the second place only two points behind the US team.
Russia and Belgium's Spa Hayabusa are tied in 3rd place. Norway and France are in striking distance. Germany's team EADS is shortly behind in 7th place.
