Did You Know...

... that Lisa Albrecht is ready for her comeback with Vengeance?

Boarding at Skydive Oregon
posted Sep 21st, 2006 - The next meet report of the NSL Playoffs 2006 weekend came in from the Northwest Skydiving League. NWSL Director Harry Waller wrote the story for the NSL News.

The last meet of the NWSL 2006 season got a slow start, with a typical September day in the Northwest: low clouds - and lots of them! While the jumpers were ready to go by the planned 9:00 am wheels up, the huge early morning hole over the DZ closed at about 8:50 am. It was many hours later before we got in the air, and we had to exit early several times.

Three teams participated, two in the AA Class and one pick-up Rookie Class team that jumped together for the first time at the meet. Elsinore Vengeance competed once again with Dave Correia, Deb Correia, Jeff Smith and alternate Tye Graven, who is still filling in at the point position for Lisa Albrecht, who broke her ankle seven weeks ago.

Comedy of Errors prepares a jump
Lisa will be training with the team this coming weekend and plans to do some tunnel time to get back and up to speed. Jeff Johnson continues to shoot video for the team, and he practiced last weekend with a dual-camera set-up in preparation for his job at the USPA Nationals 2006.

The members of the Rookie Class team Comedy of Errors, Sameer Adhikari, Katerine Drew, Greg Drew and Dan Cleary, participated in their first ever 4-way meet. They received lots of coaching from Lisa Albrecht and the other experienced competitors while waiting for the skies to clear. It was great to see their excitement and enthusiasm!

Sameer Adhikari believes their name turned out be an appropriate one. "The videos were hilarious. The team was unable to score a single point." However, Comedy of Errors managed to build a formation in one of the four jumps. The team looks forward to scoring a lot more points next season. It was great to see some new jumpers, and they have motivated others to get together and compete in the future.

Last weekend's NWSL competitors
Cheaters & Beaters were back with a slightly different line-up: Sharon Glaeser on Point, Harry Waller Outside Center, Bob Glaeser Tail, Kimmy Kaplan Inside Center and Lee Roehrdanz on camera. The Cheaters had a great time despite the fact that it took almost 12 hours to complete five rounds, and a few rounds did not even get the 35 seconds of working time.

All teams completed only five rounds of the competition, with the last jump finishing just at sunset. The forecast for Sunday was for more bad weather, so the decision was made to end the competition Saturday evening.
