Did You Know...

... that teams from the east coast shared tunnel time and plane loads yesterday in Eloy?

Carolina Ice
posted Oct 21st, 2006 - The first update from the USPA Nationals 2006 came from Eloy yesterday, and it was provided by Cherie and Karl Schuch who have been organizing the MidAtlantic Skydiving League activities for several years. They recently train and compete with Cross Keys O2 Project and had their eyes on the teams from their region.

Cherie and Karl Schuch made the long trip from New Jersey to Arizona a fun adventure: "Karl & I are traveling around the US starting last week. We are on our way to AZ. Sitting in Oklahoma City right now." They made it safely to the competition site in Eloy and observed the training activities on Friday:

Cross Keys O2 Project with Cherie and Karl Schuch
"AA Class teams have been arriving all day. Some of them spend some minutes in the tunnel, while others are taking advantage of the beautiful skies for practice jumps. Ranch Fusion shared an hour of tunnel time with Carolina Ice. Cross Keys Air Pollution share the jump plane with their local MASL rivals, Controlled Descent.

Both teams have been battling it out all season long, and it should be interesting to see how both handle the pressure of the USPA Nationals this year. This is also the first USPA Nationals for the new MASL meet director Mike Minicozzi. He competed with a weekend team this year, and he was fortunate that a spot opened up in a well seasoned 4-way team headed for the USPA Nationals."

This page will be updated later, stay tuned.

Event page is prepared

Ready to go

The event pages have been completed, only the competition draw needs to be added.

28 teams are registered for the AAA Class competition, 14 for USPA's Open Class and 14 for the Advanced Class. Additional 34 teams will compete in the AA/Intermediate Class.

Support the NSL
Most of the teams already had an NSL team page with scores of the 2006 season. In fact, only 12 of the 62 teams do not have a record in the NSL files.

All the empty spots will be filled with numbers tomorrow morning. The competition will begin at 7 am.
