... that Round 4 of the USPA Nationals in now on NSL-TV?
posted Nov 21st, 2006 - SkyQuest 2006 came to a beautiful end on Sunday afternoon. The swoopers had their small 4-round demo competition on Saturday. The Kaleidoscope Divers completed 15 of the planned 17 jumps with the quality peak at the every end, and Natasha Montgomery handed out medals and trophies for the old and new NSL Champions after the 10-round event.
The stories of the SkyQuest 2006 events will follow soon. In the meantime, a new set of championship videos has been uploaded for fresh NSL-TV viewings. Once again, the three champions of the USPA Nationals 2006, DeLand Groove, Arizona Divewerkz and Ranch Pulse, have provided their videos of the next round.
The competition jumps of Perris Fury can also be found at the Skydive Perris website. Round 4 (9-K-10) is now featured on NSL-TV. DeLand Groove had just given up the 2-point lead over Team Fastrax in round three, and both teams tied their scores of 22 points in round four.
Team Fastrax was all of a sudden in a position, which the team members had probably hoped for. It was still a surprise for many observers that Fastrax was tied in 1st place after four rounds, with top teams as the Russian Black Cat and both Airspeed line-ups behind.
Black Cat claimed the highscore for Round 4 with a 23-pointer. Seven teams managed to complete Block 10 (Diamond - Bunyip) on the 4th page within working time for the 20th point, including Perris Fury. Round 4 was also the beginning of the end for Elsinore Gravity. The NSL News story on October 22 had provided the details of the meltdown.
Arizona Divewerkz continued to dominate USPA's Advanced Class competition in round four. No other team in this AAA Class category had been able to tie any of AZDW's scores throughout the first three rounds. AZDW was the only Advanced Class team that completed Block 10 on the 3rd page for a score of 15 points. Only Cross Keys Vision and Cross Keys O2 Project completed the Diamond for the 14th scoring point.
Ranch Pulse recovered quickly in the AA/Intermediate Class competition. The RSL team had lost one point of the 3-point lead to Air Force CAD in Round 3, and Skydive Chicago's Furies had picked up two points on the leader. However, Ranch Pulse came back with a new highscore of 11 points in Round 4 and was now even four points ahead of the Air Force team. Competition jumps of Air Force CAD will soon be shown on NSL-TV, as well, since the team won the AA Class competition at SkyQuest 2006. The footage of 4-way competition in DeLand will also include Air Force 7XY.
