Did You Know...

... that CTR Optimum won the national championship of Brazil last weekend?

posted Dec 11th, 2006 - CTR Optimum easily defended the Brazilian 4-way title last weekend at this year's national championships. The latest scores on the front page are from Brazil and did not offer any surprises. The ranking order of the current leaderboard is exactly the same as it has been throughout the previous three meets of the regular season.

The old and new Brazilian 4-way champion, CTR Optimum, has scores of an additional 5th competition on its team page. Pedrosan (Inside Center), Ziara Abud (Outside Center), Fábio Diniz (Tail), André Ferraz (Point) and Chubby Renato (Camera) represented Brazil at the World Meet 2006 in Germany in August.

CTR Optimum finished in 18th place of the 25-team field at the World Meet with a 14.0 average after the 5-round competition, one single point behind Japan. Last weekend's national championship was the first 10-round competition for all teams, including the national team.

The World Meet in Germany was supposed to be a 10-round competition, as well. Unfortunately, cloudy and rainy summer weather did not allow the teams to complete the whole meet. All four Brazilian 4-way team that competed at the national championship last weekend scored on the same level after ten rounds as they did at the previous 6-round meets of the 2006 season.
