... that round six of the SSL Valentine's Meet 2005 completes the NSL-TV coverage?

posted Mar 28th, 2005 - Round six of the SSL Valentine's Meet 2005 completes the NSL-TV coverage of this event. This last round offers one last opportunity for now to review Arizona Airspeed's two line-ups competing at the first competition of the 2005 season in February. Airspeed Odyssey and Velocity did not travel to Perris for the March meet of the Southwest Skydiving League. However, the SSL moves back to Eloy, Arizona, in April. There is a very good chance that new Airspeed 4-way footage will then become available for NSL-TV and the valued audience.

It happened by coincidence that this new round of NSL-TV comes shortly after today's NSL News story, which covered Eliana Rodriguez' visit at the July meet of the Midwest Skydiving League. Rodriguez and Airspeed Odyssey delivered another world class performance in round six and outscored their teammates of Airspeed Velocity by two points and a score of 21 points.

However, Odyssey's 21 points were not the highest score of the round. The Golden Knights finished the competition in Eloy with one of the best jumps and the second highest score of the meet with 23 points. Only the Army team's 24 points in round two (M-O-G-12) beat the score of round six (P-15-B-3).

While the Airspeed coverage takes a break, the Golden Knights also attended the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2005 in March and provided the meet management and NSL-TV with new up-to-date footage. Round one of the competition in DeLand is currently featured on NSL-TV. Round two will be presented very soon.

The Golden Knights visited the NSL office in DeLand the week after the completion of the Shamrock Showdown, answered NSL News questions and commented the team's performance in DeLand. This interview will be posted tomorrow.

The Golden Knights Gold team finished the AA Class competition in Eloy in first place and with the highest score of round six. Arizona Divewerkz took the second place, Elsinore Equinox the third place after six rounds.

The four SSL teams competing in the A Class competition had both line-ups of the Air Force Academy in the first two places at the end of the meet. The sequence of the last round consisted of three Random Formations (P-B-K). Air Force Quad won the round with the highest score of the meet (16 points) and the overall A Class competition by ten points.

Norfolk N' Chance in third place was ready for a higher score in this round, as well. Unfortunately, some of the presented formations could not be identified by the judges, and the A Class team ended up with only two points on the scoreboard.

NSL-TV of the SSL Valentine's Meet 2005 is now complete, thanks to Brent Finley for putting together the entire SSL meet footage and sending it to the NSL headquarters.
