... that Airspeed Odyssey and France Maubeuge lost points in Round 4?
posted Mar 7th, 2007 -
Good news for the Arizona Directe fans and for everybody who likes to watch former Airspeed world champion John Eagle do his job. NSL-TV found Directe's round three of the Valentine's Meet and added it to the other videos of the competition on the separate NSL-TV event page.
This is also good news since round three was probably AZ Directe's best jump of the competition. A very clean and energetic performance brought Gary Beyer (Center Inside), Kirk Campbell (Center Outside), John Eagle (Point) and Samer Haija (Tail) very close to Perris Fury.
The Perris team finished round three with a 20-pointer, and AZ Directe was only one point and one random transition behind with a 19-pointer. Directe's videographer, Gordon Lindsay, had obviously a good feeling about the jump when he gave thumbs up for his team at separation time.
Round 4 is also the next opportunity for the audience to view another Fastrax training jump with a sequence of the Valentine's Meet. Team Fastrax, Airspeed Odyssey and France Maubeuge all completed 24 points within working time. However, Odyssey and France ended up with only 23 points on the scoreboard in Eloy.
The NSL-TV audience has the next opportunity to find the situations with the infringements.
Airspeed Odyssey arrived first at the bottom of Block 8 (Canadian T - Canadian T), with 33.87 seconds on the NSL clock. Fastrax completed the Diamond at 34.19 seconds, while the French team just managed to squeeze the 24th formation into working time (35.00 seconds). None of these three teams came close to the completion of the block.
Perris Fury was slower with block times and random work and finished three points behind (20). Arizona Directe (17) was next in this round with three more poins behind Fury, and the distance between Directe and Italy's Spin Team (14) and the Russian Crossroads (14) was three points, as well.
Arizona Divewerkz had a major interruption at the completion of Block 8 (Canadian T - Canadian T) on the first page and also lost a point right there for a score of 11 points. Texas Havoc funneled the exit and needed quite some time to build the first Side Buddy.
The sequence for the AA Class teams was identical with the AAA Class in this round. Down 5 with Erig Gin posted the team's second highscore for a round with a 9-pointer and reduced the distance to Black Ice with Todd Hawkins to one single point after four rounds. The Ficken Chuckers were only two points behind in 3rd place after the 8-pointer in Round 4.
