... that the Golden Knights took the lead in Round 4?

Round 4 of the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2007 offered the first prizes of the Skins Game. It was no big surprise that Team Fastrax walked away with the first $150 cash and five $60 certificates, as the NSL News story on March 23 already explained the situation after Round 3.
Alti-2 provided the discounts for company products, while the DeLand Center for Aesthetic Dentistry sponsored the $150 cash for the winner of Round 4 and also offered each team member a tooth whitening treatment with a value of $400 each.
Team Fastrax smiled already after Round 4, even without the treatment by "DeLand Smiles" dentist Mark Mathias. John Hart, Doug Park, Thomas Hughes, Niklas Hemlin and Steve Redinbo did not only win the first skin of the 10-round competition. The 21-pointer was also the highscore for the round.
DeLand Groove and Airspeed Odyssey both missed the completion of Block 3 (Side Flake Opal - Turf) on the top of the 4th page by a little and posted 19-pointers. The Golden Knights were just a few tenths of a second faster and managed to squeeze in the 20th scoring point (34.86 seconds).
However, the Army team had now taken the lead by one point over Airspeed Odyssey. Team Fastrax was still far behind after the debacle on the first page in Round 3. The highscore in Round 4 was a great comeback and gave the Fastrax members the much needed energy and motivation at the right time.
The new videos of Round 4 also feature Norway Arcteryx' female Center Outside, Ditta Valsdottir, in full action. She has now taken Norway's bronze medal slot that Lise Aune used to fill for the DeLand Norgies years ago. Lise Aune is currently visiting in DeLand for a Norwegian Formation Skydiving training camp, and the NSL News will invite both Norwegian world-class competitors for a live interview.
The NSL News had introduced the new Arcteryx line-up with the story on January 23. The former national freeflyer for Norway, Derek Broughton, had joined the team in the Tail position at the end of the 2006 season and attended his first 4-way competition with Arcteryx at the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2007.
The meet videos provide the NSL-TV audience with the first impressions of the Arcteryx 2007 performance. The 19.7 average is obviously a good starting position for the new line-up. The previous line-up with Oyvind Buer in the Tail position had posted a 15.8 average at the end of the first Arcteryx year in Croatia 2004.
The progression was steep from then on, and the Norwegian team finished with a 21.0 average in 5th place at the World Meet 2006 in Germany. Tore Buer (Center Inside), Ole Petter Hjelle (Point) and Ditta Valsdottir (Center Outside) surely provide a very comfortable foundation for the new Tail. However, Derek Broughton came from nowhere to the 19.7 average on March 18 within a very short period of time, and the team seems to be significantly ahead of the progression in 2004/2005.
Arcteryx missed the completion of the 19th scoring formation only be a few tenths of a second, which would have tied Airspeed Odyssey's and DeLand Groove's scores for Round 4. There are apparently enough good reasons for the NSL News to keep the eyes on the progression of the Norwegian team.
