Did You Know...

... that Tunnel Chaos and the Z-Team went neck to neck in Florida?

Billy Andrews with Tunnel Chaos
posted May 22nd, 2007 - Skydive City in Zephyrhills hosted the third meet of the Florida Skydiving League 2007 season. Four teams put their names on last weekend's leaderboard, which is now only missing the teams of the Carolina Skydiving League. Three new team names from Finland have already been added earlier today.

Teiwaz represented the Florida Skydiving League in the AAA Class competition and currently holds the top position until the scores of the Golden Knights will be posted. Teiwaz competed with the same line-up that completed the first half of the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2007 in March (Rodney Cruce - Center Inside, Jim Klinge - Tail, Bob Byrne - Center Outside, Kurt Gaebel - Point).

FSL event judge Kirk Knight
Billy Andrews had filled the Teiwaz Tail slot on the second day of the March meet. This time, it was only a 1-day event, and the former Fastrax member helped the Z-Team and Tunnel Chaos with coaching in Zephyrhills, while Teiwaz completed all six rounds with the same line-up.

The first round was already the peak performance for Teiwaz, and the team members were surprised with the 17-pointer when event judge Kirk Knight posted the scores. The former Golden Knight had already judged a few FSL meets last year and provided his judging services once again last weekend. The small meet at Skydive City allowed him at the same time to make a few jumps in the same Twinotter load that lifted the teams to jump altitude of 10,500 feet.

Z-Team mates Paul Barthus and Thiago Muradas
Tunnel Chaos had attended the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2007, as well, missed the FSL April meet and came back for the May meet with a different line-up. Pat Dynaster has replaced Scott Graham in the Center Outside position, and Tunnel Chaos resumed with the performance and scoring level of almost exactly the same level.

Tunnel Chaos had an exciting AA Class competition on site with the Z-Team. Paul Barthus (Tail), Laura Song (Point) and Alicia Wolfe (Center Outside) missed the team's actual Center Inside, Christine Freiherr. Thiago Muradas, who already competed at an FSL meet with Teiwaz last year, filled the slot last weekend and helped the home team to a 1-point advantage after six rounds. Chuck Blue was on camera for the Z-Team. Both FSL teams are currently on top of the AA Class leaderboard of last weekend's events.

The AA Class sequence for Round 1 was different compared to the AAA Class. The slot-switching Block 16 (Compressed Accordeon - Box) was replaced by Block 7 (Side Buddies - Side Buddies), while Block 8 (Canadian T - Canadian T) completed the sequence for the AA Class teams. Tunnel Chaos and the Z-Team tied the meet opener with 9-pointers.

The A Class sequence was identical with the AA Class. The FSL contender in the A Class, ZT Mal4mations from Skydive Miami in Homestead, continued with the team's progression of quality. Bad luck with the video in Round 1 and an exit funnel in Round 3 held the team's scores on a lower level. However, Scott Johnson (Point), Ana Song (Tail), Gary Hansen (Center Inside), Lance Smith (Center Outside) and Luis Alvarez (Camera) are currently still in 3rd place of the A Class leaderboard with 11 teams.
