Did You Know...

... that the Dutch teams will post their first scores at the Tomscat Trophy in June?

Infinity line-up in 2006
posted May 24th, 2007 - The NSL News began with a preview of the 2007 situation in the Netherlands with the story on May 11. Punky Fish, the Dutch national 4-way of the past years, decided to discontinue after the World Meet 2006 in Germany, and the slot of the new national team is open.

The same counts for the situation in FAI's female category of the 4-way event. Infinity represented the Netherlands at the World Meet 2006 in Germany and does not come back for the 2007 season.

Dynamic Force, with former Punky Fish member Paul Hofstee, was introduced with the first update on May 11. The team is probably this year's top contender in the Netherlands. However, there will be competition.

Infinity action
Two other former Punky Fish members have teamed up with two former Infinity members (Anja van Stralen and Ilona de Graaff). The team name is 50/50 and calls the Paracentre Teuge in the Netherlands its home. The 50/50 goals include having a good time together, making good jumps and competing at the Tomscat Trophy and the Dutch Nationals 2007. 50/50 completed some tunnel training in the winter and made their first jumps together in April/May.

Judith Muit, Infinity's Tail in Germany, has now taken the Center Outside position for team Whooops, a talented team with high goals. Whooops competed in the Rookie Class last year, and Judith Muit will bring a lot 4-way knowledge and experience to the Dutch team. Paul Hofstee and Gary Smith are coaching Whooops.

Pulse at the DeLand camp in April
The last Infinity member, Irma van der Burg, takes a break from 4-way competition. She is training to become an AFF instructor. She will also get married to Koen van der Venne in June. Koen van der Venne is a member of the Dynamic Fource line-up.

The couple met at the Dutch Nationals 1996 and competed together with the Jokers at the World Meet 2003 in France. Then they went their own team ways and now fully complete the circle.

Last not least, team Pulse continues in 2007. Pulse will be the official Dutch national team at the European Championship 2007 in Russia. The team was extremely consistent in 2006, as it posted an 11.4 average at each of the three attended meets last year. Pulse is training more this year to get to a higher scoring and performance level.

De Jokers at the World Meet 2003
Insiders in the Netherlands know that the Pulse line-up includes the complete Dutch league management (Marloes Swarthoff, Gerhard Schut and Mike Pennock). Mieke Mulder and Jacco van Eerden complete the line-up.

Pulse had ist first outdoor training camp of the 2007 season in April in DeLand and completed more than 100 jumps and two hours of windtunnel training. Pulse had already completed more than seven hours of tunnel training in the Netherlands earlier this year. Gary Smith was also working with Pulse.

Pulse will attend the first competition of the 2007 season at the Tomscat Trophy on June 15. This event will be the first serious test for all Dutch teams in 2007.
