The month of July 2007 offers a lot of prize money to the best 4-way teams in the world. The total amount of $50,000 is in the July jackpot. $36,000 will be handed out at the Malevsky Cup 2007, additional $16,000 will be divided between the teams on the first three places at the Paraclete XP Money Meet 2007.
Paraclete XP SkyVenture stands for new 16-foot windtunnel in Raeford, and the event management, with former Airspeed 4-way and 8-way world champion Kirk Verner on the top, offers one hour of free tunnel time for each team in 4th to 8th place.
It is not only the prize money and the free tunnel time that makes the Paraclete XP Money Meet 2007 very attractive to the US top teams. The timing of the competition allows them to attend a very serious test before the ultimate showdown at the USPA Nationals 2007, which is the official US qualification event for the World Meet 2008.
Airspeed Odyssey, Team Fastrax and the Golden Knights competed the first time this season directly with each other at the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2007 in March. Airspeed Odyssey and Team Fastrax followed at the World Challenge 2007 at Bodyflight Bedford in Great Britain in April. The NSL News brought the in-door showdown in the windtunnel live to the audience.
However, the Golden Knights will join Airspeed Odyssey and Team Fastrax once again at the Paraclete XP Money Meet 2007. It will be the last opportunity for all three teams to check each other out before the USPA September meet at Skydive Chicago. Other top teams, including the ambitious underdog Perris Fury and Mass Defiance from New England, have the event in Raeford already on their agenda. The NSL News will follow up with more team information very soon.
The Paraclete XP Money Meet 2007 is a 10-round event, while the CASL teams usually complete six rounds on a meet weekend. Teams from five other nations will make July 28/29 weekend an exciting international event. France will conclude the French Cup series with the championship event, and the best French 4-way teams will compete on the other side of the Atlantic.
Austria, the Czech Republic and Germany have league meets scheduled for the same weekend, as well, and Finland holds the national championship at the same time. However, there are also rumors that teams from overseas might join the competition in North Carolina. Stay tuned for updates, teams can already register by using a mail link at the event page.
