posted Jun 4th, 2007 - Last weekend's leaderboard is not complete yet. The scores from France, Austria and Arizona are still missing. However, the current standings are already interesting enough and offer plenty of food for thoughts and discussion. Last weekend's leaderboard can be commented in the new NSL Forum, which is not busy enough yet anyway...

The teams from Great Britain play a major role on the leaderboard. 4-way Formation Skytdiving competition is on a serious upswing in the United Kingdom, and it seems to be only a matter of time until the growing solid foundation of well skilled players will create additional world-class teams.

No AAA Class teams competed last weekend in Langar, and the Formation Skydiving representative for the British Parachute Association (BPA), Chris Hollis, was disappointed as of this missing piece in BPA's Grand Prix series. However, he was very excited to see the high performance and scoring standards in the other competition classes:

"Great to see such up and coming talent in our AA, A and Rookie line-ups. Plus we had a Skyvan for the meet, so a real Boogie feeling to the place and two days of glorious sunshine certainly made this a good fun, low stress friendly meet to take part in. This is why we compete!!"

Chris Hollis is a competitor himself, and his name can be found in the Wingnutz line-up. He also reported that the new CamScore judging system worked well once again, as it was already successfully used at the World Challenge 2007 in Bedford. Chris Hollis added the CamScore owners are working on developing the system even further. The BPA representative already provided a meet story, which will be posted as soon as the pictures of the event in Langar will be available, as well.

The British teams were not represented in the AAA Class. However, they surely dominated the leaderboard of the other three competition classes. Wingnutz left the rest of the AA Class field in the dust with a 13.8 average. Wingnutz was the strongest British team in the A Class last year and moved up for the 2007 season.

Phobia (12.3) and Slightly Odd (10.3) took the first two places in the A Class competition. Phobia was a British Rookie Class team of the 2006 season. 4-Play was the strongest of seven Rookie Class teams in Great Britain last weekend and won with an 8.7 meet average after six rounds.

It was an extremely exciting competition in Langar for the 3rd place in the A Class. Three teams (Monkey Magic, Qi and Seraphim) were tied with a total of 60 points after six rounds and went into a jump-off round. Monkey Magic and Qi tied their scores once again in the 7th round, while Seraphim dropped out of the race. The 8th round finally broke the tie (8 - 7), and Monkey Magic won the bronze medal position.
