... that Perris Fury made a statement with a 24.7 average in Elsinore?
posted Jul 15th, 2007 - Skydive Elsinore hosted the third meet of the Southern California Skydiving League yesterday. The scores are already posted, and they are very impressive. It was a world-class AAA Class field in Elsinore, and Perris Fury made a very strong statement with a 24.7 average after six rounds.
No doubt that the competition draw was on the faster side. However, the 24.7 average is on the scoreboard and stands for the fact that the Perris team follows up on its promise to be a contender for gold medals at the USPA Nationals 2007.
The NSL News does not have the information yet what line-up is behind the Founding Fathers in 2nd place of the AAA Class competition. The 19.8 average and the team name indicates that some west coast veterans put together a very strong team for the meet. More information of the line-up will follow soon.
Perris Storm, the British all-female team, and Arizona Directe switched their positions on the leaderboard this time. Arizona Directe had won the June meet in Perris by one point over Storm. Both teams were in the same race yesterday, and the British team won by three points with a 19.0 average. AZ Directe's 18.5 average is still the team's new record average of the 2007 season and also in the history of the AZ Directe project.
Perris Storm probably benefitted from a recent training project together with Perris Fury. Chris Farina reported that his team split up for a day and did a series of two-on-two jumps with the Storm members. The two videos show the same sequence performed by both mixed line-ups.
Storm's average went up from 17.8 on June 2 to 19.0 yesterday in Elsinore. The Storm scores came a week after Team Elan had posted a 16.3 average at the latest Grand Prix 4-way meet in Great Britain. Storm and Elan are the two top contenders this year for the top spot in the Open Class and in the female category at the UK Nationals 2007.
Elsinore Aquila and Elsinore Eleven had a horse race in the AA Class and pushed each other past the 10.0 average benchmark. Aquila kept the upper hand as in the April meet and won by one single point. However, the distance went down from five points in April to one point yesterday. Both teams posted the highest AA Class meet averages in their team careers.
Elsinore Havoc defended the home turf successfully in the A Class competition. Perris Momentum had done the same on June 2 in Perris (34 - 31). It was also a horse race in the A Class yesterday until Round 5. Havoc was up by only one single point. The sequence of three random formations (O-F-Q) in Round 6 brought the decision in a dramatic way. The Elsinore team posted an impressive 15-pointer, while Momentum had six points on the scoreboard.
