Did You Know...

... that the AAA Class teams continue with the Money Meet in Raeford?

Awards for the Rookie Class teams
posted Jul 29th, 2007 - Saturday ended with seven completed rounds in the AAA Class competition and the award ceremony for the teams that competed in the AA Class and in the Rookie Class competition.

Team M.O.M. dominated the field of five teams in the Rookie Class and tokk the first place with a 3.8 average after four rounds. All jumps of the Rookie Class competition were made from the Pac, and the exits were probably the biggest challenge for the teams.

Five other teams from North and South Carolina competed in the AA Class competition. Carolina Fire and Fast Fockers battled it out for the CASL gold medals over the six rounds, and the last two rounds finally won the meet for the team from Chester in South Carolina.

Awards for the AA Class teams
Skydive Carolina in Chester was fielding three teams in Raeford, one in each competition class. Carolina Ice has a race with Paraclete XP in the AAA Class, Carolina Fire won the AA Class competition, and Rookie Class team Carolina Windfall recovered well after problems with the exit in the first two rounds.

The AAA Class teams completed seven rounds, and NSL-TV has already caught up until Round 6. The NSL-TV page has been added to the event pages, and all previous rounds can now be reviewed, as well.

Only the AAA Class competition continues on Sunday. The official Carolina Skydiving League competition was concluded with the award ceremony Saturday evening, while the Paraclete XP Money Meet 2007 has ten rounds scheduled. Paraclete's Tim D'Annunzio handed out certificates for free windtunnel time at the award ceremony for the AA and Rookie Class teams. The cash jackpot of $14,000 is assigned to the AAA Class competition.

The AAA Class competition at the top of the leaderboard is as tight as can be. Nothing has changed ever since the Golden Knights won Jamie Lindsay's Round 4 by one point. Airspeed Odyssey and the Army team tied the following three rounds (26-23-21), and Airspeed saved a 1-point lead at the end of the day.

Top teams before Round 8 on Sunday morning
The Golden Knights are obviously much closer than Airspeed may like it. It was not a big surprise for Craig Girard who knows very well how strong any Golden Knights line-up can be. He lived for eight years in Raeford when he was a member of the Army teams:

"We knew that the Golden Knights would have a strong team. In fact, the Army team always has a very competitive team. You should never underestimate their ability to come up with a very strong performance."

However, the line-up with John Hoover as the Center Inside has been together only for a few months, and it was still a surprise that the Golden Knights would give Airspeed a very serious competition.

Boarding for Round 8
Airspeed only won the first two rounds of the meet in Raeford. The Golden Knights then locked themselves into the same pace and performance level as Airspeed's and never let go so far. In fact, the Army team won the stretch between rounds three and seven by one point and have momnentum and confidence on their side.

The six AAA Class teams are in the air for the first round on Sunday morning, and it will be very interesting to see whether Airspeed will be able to come up with a cleaner performance or let the Golden Knight continue to challenge the Arizona team. The scores of Round 8 will be posted soon, and NSL-TV will follow up with the videos of Round 7.
