The course of the AAA Class competition then changed dramatically in Round 9. The Golden Knights seemed to put all available energy into the second last round and spoiled Craig Girard's birthday party on Sunday with a 35-pointer that won the round by three points over Airspeed.
The 1-point Airspeed lead, which seemed to be in good hands, turned into a 2-point deficit all of a sudden. Being in second place after nine rounds was a very new situation for the Odyssey members. The leader had turned into the challenger, and the Golden Knights had even more momentum and confidence on their side.
Airspeed has still not scored below 20 points since Round 9 at the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2007 in March this year, and this amazing streak stays alive. However, The Army team's two 19-pointers in rounds one and two this weekend were not in the way of being ahead of Airspeed after Round 9.
However, Craig Girad mentioned earlier that nothing is impossible when it comes to the Golden Knights line-ups. He mentioned this alertness before Round 9. Did he expect the Army team to come up with this upset before the last round? Fact is that Airspeed's dominance in 4-way is in serious jeopardy after Round 9. Stay tuned for the Grande Finale in Raeford.
