Did You Know...

... that KnightTrax plans to be competitive in 8-way?

FlightSchool teammates Steve Hamilton and Thomas Hughes make plans at the World Challenge 2007...
posted Aug 31st, 2007 - The first NSL News story that covered the British Nationals 2007 on August 21 mentioned that there was a mysterious team in first place after three rounds:

"Then a new surprise waited for the local and worldwide audience. The ghost team FlightSchool posted a 28-pointer for the first round and shocked the AAA Class field."

It was rather a guest team, not a ghost team, and the NSL News learned soon who was in the line-up: "The FlightSchool line-up even consisted of three British competitors, all former XL members (John McIver, Steve Hamilton, Thomas Hughes) and Niklas Hemlin."

The NSL News added information: "Thomas Hughes and Niklas Hemlin are Fastrax members and were in Great Britain for a tunnel training camp at Bodyflight Bedford. However, FlightSchool signed up as a guest team and cannot steal the British Open Class slot for the World Meet 2008 from Team Elan or Team Storm."

The FlightSchool line-up did not return for the British rollover weekend since the Fastrax members had to travel back to the USA. It is about time for the final preparation for the USPA Nationals 2007 where Team Fastrax wants to win the gold medals and qualify as the US national team for the World Meet 2008 in France.

However, the videos of FlighSchool's first three rounds at the British Nationals 2007 are still available, and NSL-TV uploaded Round 1. CamScore once again provided the footage.

The NSL News will be live on site at Skydive Chicago, and the preview of the event will soon begin with more detailed information. Team Fastrax will have a busy week in Ottawa. Fastrax founder John Hart recently informed the NSL News that his team has also joined forces with the Golden Knights to compete in the 8-way event:

"Team Fastrax and the Golden Knights have combined as KnightTrax to compete in 8-way at the USPA Nationals. We will be training 8-way from the 26th - 31st of August at Start Skydiving."

4-way top contenders at the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2007
KnightTrax training jumps before the meet will probably make this a serious 8-way affair. It seems to be the goal to give Airspeed a competition in the 8-way event. Airspeed Odyssey has focused only on 4-way this year and has to recruit its own 8-way line-up without much training at all.

The Fastrax members obviously like competition, as two of them could not even stand on the ground while the UK teams competed at the British Nationals. However, the situation at the USPA Nationals will be different. The competition in the 4-way event is very tight, and the top contenders will probably need all energy and focus to win the 4-way event.

As it looks at the moment, three of the four top contenders in 4-way will also be serious about winning the 8-way event. Only Perris Fury does not seem to have the 8-way gold medals in mind. The NSL News will get back to this topic soon. The NSL News audience is invited to provide additional feedback and thoughts in the NSL Forum.
