posted May 1st, 2005 - The Golden Knights' 4-way team has once again put together an overview of the team's current continuity plan. The Army headquarters had already provided the NSL audience with a similar service two years ago. The Golden Knights 2003 came on a VHS, while the 2005 presentation is a professionally produced DVD.

It was a free promotional service in 2003, and the Army offers the new DVD once again without charges for profit. This allows the NSL to deliver the DVD only for shipping and handling fees as long as copies are available. The NSL will also give away the Golden Knights 2005 DVD for free with the purchase of any item in the NSL Shop.

NSL Shop visitors can, for example, buy a pair of NSL Gloves for $25 and receive the Golden Knights DVD without any addional fees since shipping and handling is already added to the NSL Gloves. The same counts for the other DVD's offered in the NSL Shop (Airspeed Mind Maps, DeLand Majik, Shamrock Showdown coverage).

The Golden Knights 2005 DVD includes the presentation of all random formations and blocks in alphabetic and numeric order. The presentation of the blocks begins with exit and subterminal move in real speed and slow motion, which is followed by the same block maneuver in terminal air, again in real speed and slow motion. This technical section finishes with some of the best jumps of the Golden Knights. The promotional section of the Army's 2005 DVD shows the Army's demo team in action. This part is not specifically for the 4-way fans, however, it offers insights of the demo team's activities and great skydiving pictures.

The new DVD will make it easier for 4-way fans to learn the techniques that Golden Knights team captain, John Hoover, has already explained in detail in his series published in the Skydiving Magazine. Month by month, Hoover went through the whole 4-way dive pool in an effort to introduce all block techniques and the Army team's continuity plan to the magazine's readership. The DVD now offers the visuals of the explained techniques.

Golden Knights 2004 and 2005
Hoover's plan was to put the comprehensive coaching project later into a booklet and publish it together with Skydiving Magazine. Unfortunately, the project is on a hold, due to the lack of resources. Hoover and Skydiving Magazine are currently looking for a third party that might be interested in making the missing effort.

However, the combination of Hoover's earlier articles in the magazine and the new DVD makes for a great and complete learning tool. The Golden Knights 2005 DVD should be in the travel bag of each 4-way team and competitor, even though John Hoover emphasizes that the presented continuity plan is only the one of his current team.

This is one more reason to check out the other continuity plans and techniques on the market, as well, including Arizona Airspeed's Mind Maps, Best of DeLand Majik and also the Shamrock Showdown coverage. The NSL Shop is open for visitors 24 hours a day.
