Did You Know...

... that Italy's 8-way team Ex3mo has hired Dan BC as the 2008 coach?

Luca Stanga at the Italian Nationals 2007
posted Oct 8th, 2007 - Luca Stanga, President and team member of the Italian 8-way team Ex3mo, was already a happy man after winning the Italian Nationals 2007, as the photo of the award ceremony shows. However, he had another opportunity to celebrate just a few weeks later.

He recently wedded Monica Stanga on a very exciting but different day for his team. The wedding ceremony took place on October 5. Italy's IPC Delegate Sara Sacchet was invited and reported a great social event: "It was a very evocative ceremony with a fantastic dinner afterwards in one of the most beautiful restaurants on the countryside."

Dining in Italy on the countryside is a life-time experience, and Luca Stanga's teammates surely had another great time and bonding team experience.

Luca Stanga has also competed with Ex3mo's 4-way line-up in the past, Ex3mix, and placed 3rd at this year's national championship. However, the main focus is on the 8-way event where Italy is on the way to become a serious medal contender for next year's World Championship of Formation Skydiving in France.

The NSL News covered the 8-way competition of the FAI World Cup 2007 where Ex3mo won the bronze medals behind France and Russia. The story on September 3 summarized the Italian Nationals 2007, and the story on September 21 announced Italy's full participation in the NSL/ESL Network next year.

Ex3mo pepares for a jump
Sara Sacchet confirmed in her last update that she has already four meets on the schedule of the regular 2008 season in Italy. The Italian Nationals 2008 will conclude the event series. The complete schedule will be posted very soon. Each of the Italian meets will offer competition in three synchronized categories: AAA/AA/A Class.

The news of Luca Stanga's wedding came along with an 8-way update from Ex3mo. The Italian team was able to schedule training camps with Dan BC, the new 8-way coach for Ex3mo. Two training camps of two weeks each are scheduled for February and April in Perris, California, Dan BC's home DZ. Ex3mo will also travel to North Carolina for a training camp in the new windtunnel in Raeford.

Dan BC with Arizona Airspeed 2007
The Italian 8-way team will follow a training program that Dan BC suggested for the 2008 season.

Dan BC just won the 8-way gold medals with Arizona Airspeed at the USPA Nationals 2007 with an 18.9 average. Ex3mo would probably be in medal contention next year if the team's new coach can get Italy's team performance to the same scoring level. Dan BC and Arizona Airspeed will not compete at the World Meet in France 2008. Knight Trax will represent the USA since the Airspeed Odyssey members focus on the 4-way competition only.
