Did You Know...

... that Perris Momentum had bad luck with weather in California and Florida?

Weather in Florida
posted Oct 27th, 2007 - The teams at the NSL Championship 2007 have not had much luck with the weather yet. Friday afternoon and Saturday went by without any skydiving activities in DeLand so far.

One of the three teams from California, Perris Momentum, was troubled by bad weather conditions even twice.

Two of the original team members, Tom Brotherton and Nate Halprin, were already on the way to Florida when the wild fires in California threatened their homes, and they had to cancel the trip to the east coast.

Team captain and player coach, Perris Fury member Josh Hall, was still able to fill the two slots after arrival in DeLand. Nick Grillet, who was just introduced by the NSL News with the story on September 27, and Mile-Hi Mayhem's coach Rusty Lewis are ready to compete for Perris Momentum.

However, the weather on Florida's east coast has not been much better compared the hot conditions in California. The rainy front that travels across Florida is moving very slowly, and the forecast for Sunday is not too promising either.

The NSL News used the downtime for a very interesting live interview with the whole Perris Fury line-up. The video will be uploaded very soon. All four Fury members have traveled to Florida with their project teams (Momentum, Jimani, Acute) as player coaches, and Fury videographer Niklas Daniel is filming two of the three teams.

Perris Fury was prepared to compete, as well, if the meet and weather conditions were supportive. The remaining Sunday will most likely have to be used only to get the project teams in the air.

In fact, the meet management already discussed the options with the attending teams if the competition will be weathered out completely. Conclusion was that the highest season average of each team's best three meets would determine the NSL champions of 2007 in each competition class.

The NSL News will hopefully follow up tomorrow with scores for at least one round. Saturday's activities will be continued with Norman Kent's award show and Skydive DeLand's 25-year anniversary party.
