The NSL News coverage of AZDW activities broadened when the Southwest Skydiving League split into the Arizona Skydiving League and the Southern California Skydiving League. AZDW member Annie Peterson managed the new league's events in Arizona, which included her own team agenda.
The NSL News story on September 27 introduced Annie Peterson and her work for the Arizona Skydiving League. The same story mentioned the "AZDW Mentorship Program", which targets also at bringing more skydivers into Formation Skydiving competition.
Perris Fury has already included the 8-way event in the team's very successful activity program, and Arizona Divewerkz now announced the introduction of its own 8-way project for the 2008 season. Team member Murel Addison updated the NSL News with more details.
Divewerkz is adding an 8-way team for 2008. The selection of the new members for the 8-way line-up has already begun. The response to the first solicitation for a try-out has been overwhelming. Gary Beyer, formerly of Arizona Airspeed and currently of Arizona Directe, will serve as the coach for the 8-way team. The team training schedule will include six hours of tunnel time in the Skyventure Arizona wind tunnel and a goal of 125 8-way training jumps to be completed at Skydive Arizona.
The 4-way team will return with the same line-up of 2006 and 2007, with Blane Boynton, Annie Peterson, Murel Addison and Cindy Nieves. Kevin Duke will again serve as the team videographer. Divewerkz will also continue their representation of Parasport and Aerodyne.
In addition to the 8-way team and the 4-way team, Divewerkz has expanded the Mentor Camp program for 2008. Three of the Mentor Camp events will also serve as Arizona Skydiving League meets. This will bring the total to four meets next year, the Valentine's Meet and then the three Divewerkz Mentor Camps. This is going to be an exciting year for Arizona Divewerkz, Divewerkz8, and all of our sponsors.
