Did You Know...

... that the Czech Republic adds the A Class for the 2008 season?

Czech Republic
posted Dec 7th, 2007 - The NSL News story on 27 August 2007 provided the last update from the Czech Republic. The young European 4-way league had just concluded its successful 2007 season with the national championship.

Jan Klapka, founder and manager of the Czech Republic's 4-way league, has consistently brought up the standards of the league and 4-way competition in his country ever since he launched the league in 2005.

Only the AAA Class was offered to the Czech teams in the first two league years of 2005 and 2006. The introduction of the Rookie Class was the next step and happened at the beginning of the 2007 season. It worked out very well for league and the teams. Each of the four 2007 meets had at least three teams competing in the new competition class.

Jan Klapka was very satisfied with the results of the additional category. He reported already in August that he planned to offer the Rookie Class teams of 2007 the next step forward in the team progression and introduce the A Class with its eight blocks and all random formations.

He confirmed his plan now, as he announced the schedule of the 2008 season at the same time. The Czech Rookie Class teams of 2007 will now have the opportunity to add the eight blocks of the A Class dive pool to their 4-way repertoire and join the international competition in 2008.

Fast Arrows (Jan Cermák, Jirina Klapková, Martin Kratochvíl, Renata Matasová, Jitka Hejlová on camera) was the best Czech Rookie Class team this year, attended each of the three meets (6.3 - 10.0 - 9.0) of the regular season and won the national championship with a 10.6 average after ten rounds.

Monkeys and All 41 competed with Fast Arrows throughout the whole 2007 season. Holky A Kluci joined the Rookie Class competition at the last event, the national championship. Skyservice, the national 4-way team, won the AAA Class competition at each meet.

While the Rookie Class teams of 2007 will move up into the A Class, Jan Klapka and his growing 4-way community in the Czech Republic will recruit the next generation of 4-way competitors. Klapka would like to see the same number of Rookie Class teams in 2008 that he had at his 2007 meets.

He has scheduled three meets for the regular 2008 season: May 24 - 25 in Prostejov, June 28 - 29 in Most, July 26 - 27 in Príbram. The schedule is almost identical with last year's calendar of Czech 4-way competitions.
