Did You Know...

... that new scores from Eloy come along with a new top team for the World Challenge 2008?

Updated scoreboard of the Valentine's Meet 2008
posted Feb 20th, 2008 - The scoreboard of the Valentine's Meet 2008 keeps filling with more scores. The NSL News thanks Airspeed Odyssey's Craig Girard and Chris Farina of Perris Fury who took photos of the event's scoreboard at different times and eventually sent these photos to DeLand when the official scores were not available for the NSL News.

In fact, the NSL scoring table still has some holes, which will hopefully soon be filled. The NSL News apologizes for the delay. Italy's Eutelia Spin Team withdrew after Round 7, while Arizona Diverwerkz' and Arizona Directe's scores for the last round will be added as soon as possible.

The NSL News will also follow up with commentary of the first outdoor scores of the 2008 season. 4-way competition fans from all over the world have been watching and discussing the results of the Valentine's Meet 2008. The first comments and evaluations will be posted very soon, meet videos will follow, as well.

US teams at the Shamrock Showdown 2008: Airspeed Odyssey - Team Fastrax - Golden Knights - Perris Fury - DeLand Groove
In the meantime, the field of teams at the next high-profile meets, the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2008 and the World Challenge 2008, have a few more very exciting names on the lists.

Team Fastrax will join the world-class competition on March 15 - 16 in DeLand. The five best US 4-way teams, each of them a world-class team (Airspeed Odyssey, Team Fastrax, Perris Fury, DeLand Groove, Golden Knights), will make the visit of the French national team from Maubeuge a most challenging event. France is the reigning silver medalist of the last World Championship of Formation Skydiving in Germany 2006 and also of the last FAI World Cup in Russia 2007.

Russian top team Black Cat
Two weeks later, Airspeed Odyssey and Perris Fury will meet again at Bodyflight Bedford where the World Challenge 2008 will take place. Both events will enjoy record participation this year, and the event in the United Kingdom just registered another world-class team.

The Russian race for the slot as the Russian national team at this year's World Meet in France will begin at the end of March in Bedford. Skylight Barkli, with three members of the top contender Sky Panthers, has already been on the team list for a while. Black Cat has now signed up, as well, and adds a new thrill to the competition.

Both teams have already trained a lot this year. Skylight Barkli and the Sky Panthers spent a lot of time at Bodyflight Bedford, while Black Cat completed 140 training jumps at a training camp in Marocco. Black Cat already invested these jumps into the right-hand door of the Pilatus Porter without knowing yet whether the team will represent Russian in France or not.

The third Russian top contender, Crossroads, has trained a lot at the Paraclete XP windtunnel in Raeford. The next camp at the same location is scheduled for April.

The news of Black Cat's trip to the World Challenge 2008 is so fresh that the team name has not been added yet to the team list at the event page. The list will be completely updated very soon.
