Did you know that the NSL interview with Team Fastrax offers insights after the meet?
posted: Feb 20th, 2006 The NSL News mentioned earlier that an interview with Team Fastrax was in the works after the completion of the SSL Valentine's Meet 2006. Fastrax had a training day scheduled for Sunday, while Airspeed and Italy competed in 8-way. The Fastrax day began with a tunnel session at SkyVenture Arizona early in the morning. Training jumps and the completion of the dive pool with the remaining competition jumps after the 6-round meet followed during the day. The NSL News met with all members of the Fastrax 2006 line-up after the last debriefing of the day. (more)

Did you know that Airspeed and Italy joined for a 16-way at the end of the meet?
posted: Feb 19th, 2006 The 8-way event was not completely over after round six. Arizona Airspeed and Italy's Ex3mo decided to finish the first competition of the 2006 season together with a 16-way fun jump. Both teams had worked hard throughout the six rounds of the 8-way competition, and the 16-way offered a casual way to end the day. (more)

Did you know that Airspeed Velocity won the second half of the meet?
posted: Feb 19th, 2006 The 4-way competition at the 2006 season opener in Eloy began with a warm-up jump for all teams. The sequence of round one (A-M-9-L) was a real tunnel sequence and offered the opportunity to create a cushion for a high meet average. The following four rounds slowed down the pace before round six helped the average to go up again. The three top teams, Airspeed Odyssey, Airspeed Velocity and Team Fastrax, finished the meet at about the scoring level where they expected themselves after these six rounds. The Airspeed line-ups had not trained much 4-way due to the 8-way commitment this year. (more)

Did you know that Airspeed's round two already looked and felt like last year?
posted: Feb 19th, 2006 The 8-way competition at the Valentine's Meet in Eloy turned out to be a duel between Arizona Airspeed for the USA and Ex3mo for Italy. None of the 4-way teams on site decided to join with another team to compete in the 8-way event, as well. However, Team Fastrax is still in Eloy for more 4-way training. The new Fastrax line-up began the day after the meet with an early training session at SkyVenture Arizona. After a short break, Fastrax continued with a serious of back-to-back training jumps. Next on today's training agenda were the remaining four rounds of Saturday's competition to complete... (more)

Did you know that the 8-way competition in Eloy features Airspeed versus Italy?
posted: Feb 18th, 2006 The NSL News was busy all day long just updating the website with scores and meet videos for NSL-TV. The NSL News will follow up with stories and interviews later. The 4-way competition was obviously fun to watch, and the teams took advantage of the two faster rounds to finish with great meet averages. The three top teams launched the 2005 season already with scores above the 20.0 average. Airspeed Velocity with the two new members Eric Gin and Thomas Hughes was probably the biggest surprise of the meet. The 21.0 average was the team's highest meet average after a total of four training jumps.... (more)

Did you know that DeLand Fire's Gary Smith provided his preview of the Valentine's Meet?
posted: Feb 15th, 2006 The 2006 season opener with the SSL Valentine's Meet at Skydive Arizona in Eloy is just around the corner, and the NSL News has already covered the event with two previews. The direct link to the event pages has been set on the front page, and the NSL News is ready to move the temporary office to the west coast. The competition draw will be posted Friday evening, as it has become normal procedure throughout the 2005 season. The actual event coverage will begin Saturday morning with scores, stories, pictures and hopefully a big load of new meet videos for the NSL-TV. (more)
