Did you know that centerpoint crossing is not in Block 5's way?
posted: Feb 4th, 2005 The NSL News reported yesterday that another change of the dive pool removed arrows and required degrees of turn in Block 5 (Opal - Opal). This change left some questions open concerning the centerpoint crossing of the vertical technique. The NSL News assumed that the pieces would still have to avoid the centerpoint crossing, even though the language indicates an open field for any technique. posted: Feb 3rd, 2005 The Formation Skydiving Committee of the International Parachuting Commission (IPC) finalized the set of rules, which will be applied for the Formation Skydiving competition 2005 season, at the IPC meeting in Poland last week. The NSL News posted the first part of the rules update yesterday and follows up with more information today. Did you know that the "Bust" has been reduced to a 1-point penalty for the 2005 season?
posted: Feb 2nd, 2005 The NSL News posted a story on December 23, 2004, that explained the topics of the next IPC meeting. This meeting took place in Poland, Europe, and ended on January 30, 2005. The NSL News received an update with all the rule changes and the changes of the current dive pool. The IPC changes take effect officially on May 1, 2005. However, earlier meets, as the SSL's Valentine's Meet 2005 this month at Skydive Arizona and the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2005 at Skydive DeLand in March, will most likely already apply the new set of rules. Did you know that more leagues sponsor their winning teams for the majors?
posted: Jan 31st, 2005 The very beginning of the National Skydiving League offered a beautiful situation for the teams, which represented their leagues at the NSL Championship. The NSL was founded in 1998 when Florida, Georgia and Texas joined forces and formed the National Skydiving League. Each of these three leagues ran its own regular season. The league champion teams of 1998 were invited to compete for the first set of NSL gold medals at the inaugural NSL Championship on November 21 - 22 at Skydive DeLand. Did you know that Sinapsi PD completed the first training camp with Pete Allum in DeLand?
posted: Jan 28th, 2005 The NSL News reported Pete Allum's move from the British team XL to the Italian national 4-way team, Sinapsi PD, at the end of last year. The new Sinapsi line-up with Livio Piccolo (Point), Arianna DeBenedetti (Center Inside), Luca Marchioro (Center Outside), Peter Allum (Tail) and Luca Poretti (Video) did not need much time to complete the plans for the 2005 season. The Italian team already completed the first camp with the new line-up at Skydive DeLand and made 80 jumps in two weeks. Did you know that Indiana turns into the Mideast Skydiving League?
posted: Jan 27th, 2005 Indiana Skydiving League Director, Randy Connell, recently announced that his league "has grown beyond the original boundaries". This gave him the reason to update the league's name, which is now the "Mideast Skydiving League". The NSL website has already made the necessary adjustments in the navigation bar. Connell currently prepares the launching of the 2005 season, which includes a tunnel camp at SkyVenture Orlando in February and a Skills Camp in April in Greensburg.
