Did you know that 15 teams competed in Pahokee? posted: Apr 28th, 2011 The NSL News goes once again far back into the archives that are not stored in the current database, which begins in May 2003. April 28 was a Sunday in 2002, and the NSL News reported the Florida Skydiving League competition that took place on Saturday, April 27, at Skydive America in Pahokee.
The scoreboard looked different by then, and it also included scores after handicap. The National Skydiving League and SkyVenture Orlando worked closely together by then, and all teams had the opportunity to win free tunnel time on every meet weekend. The scores after handicap produced the winners.

Did you know that Thomas Hughes and Niklas Hemlin had their own NSL Talk show in Bedford? posted: Apr 27th, 2011 The NSL News goes back to the World Challenge 2011. There is still unpublished NSL Reality-TV footage that has been waiting to be edited. Of course, there is also still plenty of additional CamScore footage of the tunnel competition, which will be fed in whenever there is time and opportunity.
The new clip includes video footage that was captured at Bodyflight Bedford between the completion of the meet and the award ceremony. Participants and visitors entertained themselves in the FlowHouse while host Paul Mayer prepared the downstairs hangar for the award ceremony.
The NSL-TV camera was... (more)
Did you know that CADO and Bodyflight Factum won two of the three skins last weekend? posted: Apr 26th, 2011 Not much more happened in Perris over the weekend. The weather did not allow the Norwegian A Class teams at the Viking Challenge to complete any more competition rounds, and the A Class leaderboard remained unchanged.
That's officially the same case for the AAA Class competition. However, Bodyflight Atlas, the B-Team of Denmark's national 4-way project, completed the missing five rounds on Monday and provided the NSL News with the scores, which have been added unofficially to the leaderboard.
Those numbers don't appear on any other leaderboard and are not calculated for any records in the... (more)
Did you know that last weekend's Scandinavian leaderboard is almost complete? posted: Apr 25th, 2011 Last weekend's Scandinavian leaderboard is almost complete. FAI Judge and Meet Director Jukka Olkkonen sent an update with the scores from Finland, while more scores from the Viking Challenge in Perris are still expected to be added.
Jukka Olkkonen reported bad luck with the logistics, which explains the low participation and scores for only two rounds. He said that the participation at the event was generally great and that the weather was perfect.
He added that the facilities in Jämijärvi, host of last weekend's event, are actually the best ones for skydiving in Finland. However, the... (more)
Did you know that Bardagi videographer Niklas Rodensjö delivers eye candy? posted: Apr 24th, 2011 The three Scandinavian teams at the International Bunny Meet were not the only ones competing this weekend. Three other teams from Norway and Bodyflight Atlas from Denmark attended the Viking Challenge in Perris. In fact, it was almost an exclusively Scandinavian affair, as Finland opened the 2011 season at the same time.
Germany's Final Four DeLand was the only team that is not from Scandinavia. This weekend's constellation is pure coincidence, as the hosts of those three meets scheduled their events independantly from each other.
The NSL News covered the DeLand event live at the competition... (more)
Did you know that the International Bunny Meet is in full swing? posted: Apr 23rd, 2011 The International Bunny Meet of the Florida Skydiving League is on its way in DeLand, and it features four teams from three different countries, Sweden (Bardagi, CADO), Germany (Final Four) and Denmark (Bodyflight Factum).
The name of the event is obviously related to the date of the event on the Easter weekend, and it expresses some hope at the same time that there might be a jackpot in the future, as the Shamrock Showdown has it in March every year. However, the Skins Game for other prizes takes place anyway.
The European teams have scheduled their training camps in DeLand around the Easter... (more)
