News Article Did you know that Dan BC is always right?
posted: Jan 19th, 2009 The recent updates of the French national 4-way teams, France Maubeuge and Deep Blue, brought the NSL News back to the World Meet 2008 quite a few times. The situation in the female category was the topic of the last story on 12 January 2009 after a visit of the Deep Blue members in the NSL office. The French team surely has the gold medals at the world meet in 2010 in mind. However, teams from the United Kingdom and the USA have dominated the female 4-way category ever since it was launched in 1999, and UK's team Bodyflight Storm is the reigning world champion. The NSL News met with the... (more)
News Article Did you know that the NSL News is the "Eye of Formation Skydiving"?
posted: Sep 24th, 2008 The NSL News recently received a copy of the official French skydiving magazine, published every other month by the French Skydiving Federation (Fédération Française de Parachutisme). The name of the colorful and high-quality magazine is "Contacts", and the latest September/October issue covers the time period of the World Meet 2008. Of course, the major part of this issue is all about the competition in Maubeuge. There are several feature stories of the French national teams in all of the skydiving events, and Formation Skydiving takes the largest portion of the complete coverage in France,... (more)
News Article Did you know that Bodyflight Storm videos of the UK Nationals 2008 come along with new Fun Flag photos?
posted: Sep 3rd, 2008 The NSL News mentioned on 29 August 2008 that there is indeed new evidence of the Fun Flag being in UK possession. New footage from the UK Nationals 2008, provided by Bodyflight Storm members, include videos of some of the team's key jumps at the meet and the latest photos of the Fun Flag. The last showing of the Fun Flag took place during the 8-way award ceremony at the World Meet 2008. The US 8-way team had successfully captured the Fun Flag from the British national 4-way team Fusion after it had appeared on the video of the NSL News interview with Bodyflight Storm. Members of the British... (more)
News Article Did you know that the Dutch delegation prepares for the UK challenge at the ESL Championship 2008?
posted: Aug 29th, 2008 The national championship of the Netherlands went almost unnoticed, as well, due to the separate event date and competition draw. The scores have already been posted for a while, and the Dutch teams did well. Paul Hofstee, the highest decorated 4-way veteran in the Netherlands, and his team Dynamic Fource (Paul Hofstee - Center Outside, Erwin van den Braak - Center Inside, Meüs van der Poel - Tail, Koen van der Venne - Point, Hans van Marrewijk - Camera) continued on the same performance level where the Dutch national team had just finished at the World Meet 2008 and won the Dutch AAA Class... The national championship was on the UK agenda, and the participation confirmed once again that the United Kingdom is slowly becoming a powerhouse of Formation Skydiving competition. UK Teams have already dominated the world wide 4-way competition in the female category for quite a while. Bodyflight Storm continued the tradition this year with the gold medals at the World Meet 2008. (more)
News Article Did you know that the interview with Bodyflight Storm includes a Fun Flag showing?
posted: Aug 15th, 2008 It came as it had to be expected: it is a beautiful Friday morning with clear skies and lots of sunshine. One more day of competition, before or after the dedicated five days, would have completed the meet. That's how it goes, and the IPC committee will take a closer look at the rules for the event duration. Thursday was a great day of celebration though. The airshow and award ceremony at the dropzone attracted once again a large crowd of spectators. It was a wonderful presentation of the sport to the general public. The TV and print media participated very well in the event and covered it consistently.... (more)
