posted: Aug 13th, 2008 Back to happier events than rules and freeze frames and bad weather - if you can say so... The weather was still not cooperating very well or not at all today. Meet Director Patrice Girardin has already announced that he will soon declare the next round as the semifinals. This means that only the top ten teams would make Round 7. It is also possible that Round 7 could become the final round with only six teams if nothing changes. The weather forecast for Thursday is much better. News Article Did you know that the semifinals are in full swing?
posted: Aug 13th, 2008 The teams of the female 4-way category are already done with their semifinals. It is still a tight competition on the very top. All three teams in the medal positions lost points, Aerokart Deep Blue two, Fastrax Blue and Bodyflight Storm one each. The final round can still change everything tomorrow. The judges are currently working on the semifinals in the 4-way Open Class. The Dutch team Dynamic Fource has a large fan group here. It was very loud in the hangar with the viewing area when the Netherlands team was on the screen. (more)

posted: Aug 13th, 2008 It was a rough afternoon in Maubeuge on Tuesday. The teams were jumping, but the conditions were not the best ones. In fact, Meet Director Patrice Girardin even received a warning from the FAI Controller that he sent some loads in too critical conditions. Yes, it was windy, and it still is. It is almost a fact by now that the meet will not be completed after ten rounds. Patrice Girardin has all teams of all events on stand by at the dropzone, and each jumpable weather situation will be used. From here on, each jump could be the last one of the competition. News Article Did you know that Brits and Scots fought over the Fun Flag?
posted: Aug 12th, 2008 Quick update on Round 6 before the day will be wrapped up once again with the most important topic of the day. Airspeed Odyssey lost two points in the judging room, and France Maubeuge got two points closer to the very top of the leaderboard. Airspeed's lead is down to three points over Hayabusa Defence and four points over France. The scoresheets have not been available for the NSL News yet. They will tell more about what happened, tomorrow... And: Cyprus is two points ahead of Turkey and seven points ahead of Slovakia. Cross your fingers. (more)
News Article Did you know that Deep Blue members repaired the Fun Flag - and lost it?
posted: Aug 11th, 2008 The 8-way teams are still completing Round 4, while the 4-way teams were sent home in the late afternoon without any more jumping. The last update of the day is once again about the most important item of the World Meet 2008 in Maubeuge, the Fun Flag. The last uploads of some more NSL-TV videos will follow later this evening. The NSL News reported sad news this morning, the Fun Flag was not flying any longer. However, the sad news actually turned into good news when the flag was flying again not much later. posted: Aug 11th, 2008 The Fun Flag was still gone at noon, but the 8-way sword only found a new location. It is now in the viewing area of the public hangar where everybody can adore it. The 4-way Open Class competition seemed to turn into a more interesting situation when Hayabusa Defence won a point over Airspeed Odyssey in Round 2. However, the Belgian team had the highscore of the round only after Airspeed lost two points by penalties. The US team completed 34 points in time and ended up with 32 on the scoreboard.
