News Article Did you know that there is hope that the Fun Flag may fly in Voss?
posted: Aug 21st, 2023 The official training day of the FAI Outdoor World Cup 2023 is eventually in full swing. Once again, the daily rain showers had to be waited out before the teams could take off in all jump planes available at Skydive Voss. It's the day when the judges are warming up for their job. They have selected two sequences that they are testing the technology with, and that they use to become familiar with the videos and the backdrop they can expect to see during the competition. The numbers and letters are identical between 4-way and 8-way teams, while both events have different formations and blocks... (more)
News Article Did you know that the Fun Flag is once again in French possession?
posted: Oct 24th, 2022 The Fun Flag has become a topic at the FAI Outdoor World Meet 2022 since the NSL News mentioned the precious subject again for the first time since 2019, and the interest has grown. The Fun Flag was probably infected by the corona virus crisis, as well, since there has been only silence since the previous appearance at the FAI Outdoor World Cup 2019. However, she seems to have recovered well, as the current hunt of the Fun Flag at Skydive Arizona generated evidence with photos of her in French possession, as the NSL News reported on October 20th. It is surely not the first time that the Fun... (more)

posted: Oct 20th, 2022 Day by day, and now hour by hour, Round 1 of the FAI Outdoor World Meet 2022 is coming closer. The meet briefing, with opening ceremony and competition draw, is scheduled for 17.30 pm at Skydive Arizona. As usual, there will be a lot of action on the ground as soon as the competition draw is released, and the NSL News will record as much of it as possible. There is also great news coming from the French delegation. It was already encouraging that national coach Mathieu Bernier eventually decided with the French federation to sanction an 8-way team for the world meet and arrived with a larger... (more)
News Article Did you know that Dennis Praet and Marco Arrigo discussed 4-way and 8-way double duties?
posted: Oct 11th, 2019 The first event that was completed at the FAI Outdoor World Cup 2019 was the 4-way VFS competition, and Brianne Thompson won her first bronze medal. SDC Core defended the world's top spot successfully without any trouble. Russia's Vertical Flystation added the team's first outdoor FAI silver medals to the indoor ones that they won at the FAI Indoor World Meet this year. Brianne Thompson's second 4-way team, Phoenix XP in 4-way Women, put themselves in a strong position too when they finally completed Round 7 on Friday morning and followed up with a strong Round 8. In fact, Phoenix XP won the... (more)

posted: Oct 10th, 2019 The Fun Flag had its first showing during the opening ceremony of the FAI Outdoor World Cup, as the NSL News reported yesterday. The Norwegian VFS team Blue Pelican had shown it during the opening ceremony on Monday and then kept it hidden on Tuesday. They received the yellow card for the violation of the Fun Flag rules, even though team member Derek Nordlund Broughton said that his team simply forgot to bring the flag to Skydive Arizona in the morning. However, Blue Pelican followed up, and they were on their way to letting it fly again on Wednesday when the next party took possession of it. It... (more)
News Article Did you know that Joey Jones and the Fun Flag filled the wind hold time with updates?
posted: Oct 9th, 2019 The FAI Outdoor World Cup was on a wind hold on Wednesday just when the 4-way teams had completed their 6th round. Meet director Brian Byrke at least accomplished his first goal, which was the 6th round in 4-way. The previous NSL Reality TV video clip had included a time when Bryan Burke addressed teams in the loading area with advice for the increasingly challenging weather conditions. The first dust devils were whirling around the Skydive Arizona facilities and needed to be watched for safety reasons. Eventually, they appeared too frequently, and Bryan Burke put the whole meet on a wind hold. The... (more)
