News Article Did you know that Escondido battles regularly with old friends from Portugal?
posted: May 17th, 2013 The next international meet weekend is coming up, with teams competing in France, the Czech Republic and the USA. Last weekend's leaderboard was dominated by UK teams, and the NSL News week was busy with updates from the United Kingdom accordingly. The attention to the UK teams guided the NSL News to a related topic and a team that did not compete last weekend. It's a team that has not caught much attention despite the fact that it is actually the longest standing one in the United Kingdom. The NSL News is now catching up with AAA Class team Escondido. Escondido was started by a group of... (more)
News Article Did you know that UK team Eclipse has a new record average and the Fun Flag?
posted: Apr 10th, 2013 The Fun Flag had not made it from Canada to the Paraclete XP Outdoor Championship 2013. However, it was at Bodyflight Bedford for the World Challenge 2013, as the NSL News reported on 4 April 2013. It was not really flying as usually at the outdoor meets since host Paul Mayer once again played his own game with it. He makes it visible on the DZ-TV screens with hints of the location where it can be found. The World Challenge 2012 was the first time that the Fun Flag made it to Bedford, and the game was the same as this year - different. It created the same fun though and went through different... News Article Did you know that the Fun Flag had a rough trip to Bedford?
posted: Apr 5th, 2013 The audience has probably noticed by now that the Fun Flag has made it to Bodyflight Bedford. It came from Canada where Evolution had taken it to after the Mondial 2012 in Dubai. It was no easy transition. Katie Woods reported yesterday that the flag got lost at customs and immigration. She even provided evidence for the very strange incident at the US/Canadian border and brought the original "Notification of Checked Baggage Inspection" issued by the Canadian Air Transport Security Transport. The agency tried to "protect you and your fellow passengers, and in accordance with Canadian security... (more)
News Article Did you know that Round 3 videos feature the highscorers in other categories?
posted: Apr 5th, 2013 The first new NSL-TV clip features once again the top teams in 4way Open and 4way Women in Round 3. This time though, the NSL News did not leave the flying chamber after Aerokart Deep Blue completed the AAA Class rotation. It was time to take a closer look at the teams who delivered the amazing performances in Round 2. Raykipo's 50-pointer in Round 2 was probably the highest indoor score ever in the A Class. NSL-TV then captured the team's next round, which was the slowest one so far in this category. Then the NSL News staid on for the A Class competition where the second team from Finland... (more)
News Article Did you know that British security is on highest Fun Flag alert?
posted: Apr 4th, 2013 Thursday's NSL News live coverage of the World Challenge 2013 continues with teams that may not be so much in the spotlight during the competition, when the top of the leaderboard catches most of the attention. The NSL News featured Kalle Pohjola earlier today, the 12-year young 4way competitor from Finland who flies the Tail slot for the Pro Team. Father Kimmo is the team's Center Outside, and mother Outi is across of the formations in the Point slot. The NSL Reality TV camera captured more of Kalle's performance and zoomed in on him while he was turning points. Rookie Class opponent Panik... (more)
News Article Did you know that the Mondial 2012 in Dubai could have been a golden opportunity?
posted: Jan 15th, 2013 The last NSL News contribution for Blue Skies Mag was published after the live coverage of the Mondial Dubai 2012 and was only indirectly related to the event. The main focus was on the 10-year anniversary of live event coverage by the NSL News. The Mondial 2012 was the perfect opportunity to celebrate the special occasion. The athletic part of the event and little excursions to other topics here and there were covered comprehensively. Different Dubai stories are still making the news on a regular basis. However, there was another part of the same event that was not related to scores and perfomances,... (more)
