News Article Did you know that Echochamber have a big decision to make at the end of August?
posted: Aug 1st, 2021 Sweden had another comeback in skydiving competition, even though it was as small as can be. Two teams showed up for the national championships in July, and the new Echochamber lineup had no problem with defending the national 4-way title. Three of the Scandinavian countries (Denmark, Norway, Sweden) came back this year with their national championships, after only Denmark and Norway held their events in 2020. Finland had the last outdoor competition with 4-way teams in 2018. All Scandinavian countries have withdrawn from participation at the FAI Tanay Mondial 2020. However, the Swedish national... (more)
News Article Did you know that 4Astrophe defended the Canadian 4-way title successfully?
posted: Jul 26th, 2021 It was almost exactly two years ago, after the national championships, when the last scores of Canadian 4-way teams were posted on the NSL website. It was the first time that the Bisson family team (father Richard, daughter Valerie, son Yannick, plus Nicolas Malley and Sean Paquette on camera) won the Canadian 4-way title. The even more successful Lemay family (father Michel, sons Martin, Vincent, Benoit) had dominated 4-way competition in Canada between 2005 and 2017. Martin, Vincent and Benoit Lemay, with Katie Woods, Jean Christophe Ouimet and videographer Jean-Sebastien Vadeboncoeur in their... (more)
News Article Did you know that both German Airbus teams have withdrawn from the FAI Tanay Mondial 2020?
posted: Jun 29th, 2021 The story of Germany's Formation Skydiving competition delegation for the FAI Tanay Mondial 2020 began naturally with the qualification for the slots in 4-way Open, 8-way Open and 4-way Women at the German Outdoor Nationals 2019. Oceanside AtomiX (4-way Open), Airbus (8-way Open) and Skynamite (4-way Women) won the respective qualifications at the national championships. AtomiX won their first national 4-way title, while Airbus and Skynamite defended their status successfully. The Airbus 8-way team and Skynamite traveled to Arizona a few months later and competed at the FAI Outdoor World... (more)
News Article Did you know that Echochamber still has a fire burning?
posted: Jun 23rd, 2021 The NSL News covered the recent FAI Tanay Mondial cancellation by Sweden's national team in 4-way Open, Echochamber, with yesterday's update. The cancellation was neither directly related to the implications of the corona virus pandemic nor to last weekend's crash of a L-410 Turbolet jump plane in Tanay. Team speaker Ulf Liljenbäck explained the circumstances after Echochamber had tried to find a substitute for injured Johan Edvall, and that his team was not able to make a working plan for the upcoming world championship. He mentioned in his message that his team has found a new team member... (more)
News Article Did you know that no German 4-way Women team will travel to Russia?
posted: May 26th, 2021 The complete German Formation Skydiving delegation for FAI/ISC events in the traditional events (4-way Open, 4-way Women, 8-way Open) seemed to be in jeopardy when Oceanside AtomiX recently announced that the reigning 4-way Open Class champions will not represent Germany at the FAI Tanay Mondial 2020 this August. However, the German skydiving federation (DFV) and national coach Robert Trögele reacted quickly and asked the runner-up of the last national championships in 2019, Airbus Illertissen, if they were ready for traveling to Russia as the substitute team in 4-way Open. The Airbus 4-way... (more)
News Article Did you know that British national 4-way team Chimera is back in training action?
posted: Apr 8th, 2021 It is not easy to comprehend that the last international FAI event in Formation Skydiving competition was the FAI Outdoor World Cup in October 2019. A year and a half have gone by, and it will be almost two years before the FAI Tanay Mondial 2020 is scheduled to bring the national teams of each country back together at the same place and the same time in August. The same event was also the last outdoor competition for the British national teams in 4-way Open (Chimera) and 4-way Women (NFTO). The British 8-way team Groomed competed at Skydive Arizona, as well. None of the British competitors... (more)
