Did you know that the French national teams sent back strong messages last weekend?
posted: Jun 7th, 2006 The NSL News story on May 3rd announced that France would join the 4-way league network for the 2006 season. Gillian Winter, French IPC Delegate and President of the French Sporting Commission, followed through, and the scores of the first event last weekend are posted. France had impressive participation at the first of three "Coupe de France" events. Only the scores of the teams competing in the AAA/Open Class are posted since the dive pool of the second French competition class is not synchronized yet with the National Skydiving League and the European Skydiving League. 15 teams competed... Did you know that the Air Force teams switched positions in Colorado?
posted: Jun 6th, 2006 Three teams of the Air Force Academy competed once again at last weekend's third competition of the Colorado Skydiving League. Air Force CAD and Air Force Shockwave had taken the first two places at the CSL May meet. The same line-ups took first and second place again last weekend, only in switched positions. AF CAD's meet average went from 9.8 in May to 9.2 in June, while AF Shockwave improved the meet average from 8.8 in May to 10.3 last weekend. This was even enough for Shockwave to take the Air Force's internal lead (9.6 - 9.5) according to the season average in the AA Class. AF 7XY follows... (more)

Did you know that the Midwest Skydiving League teams keep moving up the steps of competition classes?
posted: Jun 6th, 2006 The Midwest Skydiving League 2006 season finally kicked off Saturday at Skydive Chicago in some of the nicest weather the Midwest has enjoyed this year. The first meet is always full of surprises, first and foremost being who some of the competitors are that we will be seeing this season. This meet, which mostly featured veterans from previous seasons, had six teams in three different classes. The flow of the teams that initially began in our Rookie Class two and three years ago and progressed to the A Class competition last year has now moved into the AA Class, which appears to be our class... Did you know that the Perris AirKix meet video has been added to the last NSL-TV show?
posted: Jun 5th, 2006 The NSL-TV studio had not reviewed the SSL meet video tape thoroughly enough when the NSL News mentioned in last week's story that the Perris AirKix jumps could not be found. The tape was was sent by Southwest Skydiving League Director Erin Murphy, and she sent a note that the missing footage was dubbed at the end of the tape. (more)

Did you know that two NPSL teams have stepped up into new competition classes?
posted: Jun 3rd, 2006 The second attempt of the Northern Plains Skydiving League to kick off the 2006 season was successful. Once again it was not easy since the weather situation was as critical as it was at the original date in May. However, NPSL Director Sandy Grillet was determined to get it done, and he succeeded with an emergency plan: "After looking at the weather and wind forecast late on Saturday I made the decision to move the start time from 8:30 am to 7:00 am. Surprisingly all the competitors supported my decision and agreed to start early. We got four rounds in before 12:30 pm when the winds kicked up... (more)

Did you know that round one of the new SSL-TV shows very busy Perris Fury members?
posted: Jun 3rd, 2006 The video footage of the Southwest Skydiving League's May meet has arrived, and NSL-TV did not hesitate to process and upload the first round Friday afternoon. Unfortunately, the videos of UK's national team in the Women's category, Perris AirKix, are the only ones missing. The different recording format, the European PAL system, was probably the obstacle. However, the other jumps provide the overview of how the SSL teams performed in May, including the top scorer, Elsinore Gravity.
