Did you know that the Rookie Class competition is hot again this year in Carolina? posted: May 22nd, 2006 The second meet of the Carolina Skydiving League 2006 season was held at Skydive Carolina in Chester SC on May 20, 2006. DZO Danny Smith and his efficient staff proved to be excellent hosts for the 11 teams that registered for the meet. The really fast Twinotter, provided by Fayard Enterprises, and the helpful manifest allowed us to complete four rounds between the weather systems.

Did you know that Elsinore Gravity and UK Perris AirKix sent strong messages from Perris? posted: May 22nd, 2006 The first big multi-league meet weekend of the 2006 season has been completed. The scores of 48 teams are already posted, and three leagues will provide their updates very soon. One of the meets in Europe was completely weathered out, as Gerhard Schut reported from the Netherlands:
"This weekend we made an attempt to launch the first competition of the Dutch Handicap Cup 2006. Three teams had registered for the A Class competition, Alles is Relatief, 4 Get-it and Tuthola's. Did you know that the 2004 horse race between Germany and Italy in 8-way might take place again this year? posted: May 19th, 2006 South Africa has registered one team for each of the three Formation Skydiving events at the World Meet 2006, and Ireland added a team to the line-up in the 4-way Open Class. The NSL News continues with the introduction of the home teams of this competition in Gera, Germany.
The story on May 7 mentioned that the German skydiving club FSC Remscheid currently hosts two of the three German national teams, the 8-way line-up and the female team. The same story covered the history of FSC Remscheid's national team in the Women's Class. (more)
Did you know that the Skydive Chicago Furies offer an "Introduction to 4-way" this weekend? posted: May 18th, 2006 The Midwest Skydiving League is not yet launching the 2006 season. However, the teams of the league are busy preparing themselves and other skydivers for the first meet on June 3. MWSL Director Alan Butt mentioned that one of his teams, the Skydive Chicago Furies, organize an "Introduction to 4-way" this weekend at Skydive Chicago.
The Furies with Gosia Cienkosz, Lisa DeSimone, Sarah Lawrence, Shannon Sweet and Charles Lane (video) attended three meets of the MWSL 2005 season (7.2 - 10.5 - 10.6) and dominated the A Class competition of the Midwest Skydiving League last year. The great progression... (more)
Did you know that the 2006 season brings new leagues and teams? posted: May 17th, 2006 Several meets of the 2006 season have already taken place, including the SSL Valentine's Meet 2006 and the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2006, and some meet weekends had already different leagues competing at the same time.
However, it looks as if the upcoming weekend is the real start of the 2006 season. A total of ten different leagues have scheduled events for the same date, May 20-21, including three leagues in Europe (Germany, Netherlands, Austria). The competition draw will be provided by the Deutsche Sky Liga in Germany and posted at the NSL website Friday evening, as usual. (more)
Did you know that last weekend's meet in Brazil was the only one producing scores? posted: May 16th, 2006 Jump plane maintenance was not a problem at the hosting skydiving center of the first Grand Prix 2006 meet in the United Kingdom, the Northwest Parachute Center Cark. However, the weather was not much better than it was in Iowa last weekend, and both events did not get started.
Andy Scott reported from overseas that 16 teams had entered across the board and were ready for the first round. The meet was provisionally re-scheduled for September 16-17 and now coincides with the date of the NSL Playoffs 2006. The new date still needs to be confirmed this week. (more)
