Dawn English and Natasha Montgomery were already added to the line-up of VIP's in Formation Skydiving competition this month, and Robert Chromy's career story was added today. Thomas Hughes will be featured next. Yes, Chromy actually has a first name. And no, he is not South African. Yes, he is currently competing for the Czech Republic, which is his original country of birth. And no, he has not lost his voice yet. posted: Oct 19th, 2005 The NSL News has already followed up on the results of the USPA Nationals 2005 with feedback from some of the top teams and competitors. DeLand Fire's Gary Smith and Fastrax' John Hart provided views from their perspectives in the NSL News stories on October 6 and October 11. DeLand Fire and Fastrax will both compete at the IPC World Cup 2005 next week. The Golden Knights, silver medalist at this year's USPA Nationals after an exciting race with DeLand Fire that was concluded with a jump-off, will not attend the World Cup in Eloy. News Article Did you know that US and Russian teams will battle for the 4-way medals at the World Cup?
posted: Oct 18th, 2005 Next Monday, October 24th, will be the first competition day at the IPC World Cup 2005 at Skydive Arizona in Eloy. The NSL News has already announced the event with a few previews. The related stories can be found at the event pages. The IPC World Cup is a so-called "1st Category Event", which means that it has the same relevance on the IPC agenda as the IPC World Championship. The World Cup takes place every other year and allows a total of four teams per nation to compete for the IPC medals. News Article Did you know that Pete Allum can officially compete for Italy's Sinapsi PD in 2006?
posted: Oct 17th, 2005 It is official now, the Air Sport General Commission (CASI) of the FAI (Fédération Aéronautique Internationale) changed the eligibility rules for international competitors who want to compete for a different nation after representing another country at a previous event and a "banned period". The NSL News recently resumed this topic since the CASI meeting took place last week, and two world class 4-way competitors have been involved in the issue surrounding the so-called "Pete Allum Case". News Article Did you know that FAI Secretary General Max Bishop recommended a shorter "banned period"?
posted: Oct 15th, 2005 The official decision by the FAI's Air Sport General Commission (CASI) in the "Pete Allum Case" at the meeting in Paris, France, has still not been publicly announced yet. However, there are more indications that the "3-year-rule" issue may have been settled to the advantage of new Sinapsi PD member Pete Allum. The agenda for the CASI meeting included additional information, which served as guidance for the commission members to make an educated and reasonable decision. News Article Did you know that the final verdict in the "Pete Allum Case" will come from Paris very soon?
posted: Oct 13th, 2005 The NSL News covered the "Pete Allum Case", which is related to international FAI (Fédération Aéronautique Internationale) and IPC (International Parachuting Commission) eligibility rules, comprehensively earlier this year. The issue came up when the former British national competitor Pete Allum joined the Italian national team Sinapsi PD at the end of 2004. NSL News stories at that time explained the rule situation and the implications on the athletic side.
