News Article Did you know that the FAI Outdoor World Cup 2023 offers again an open medal slot for a European team?
posted: May 23rd, 2023 The first one of the two annual major FAI/ISC events, the FAI Indoor World Championship 2023, was successfully completed at the Hurricane Factory Tatralandia in Slovakia, and the next one is in the works. Most of the national teams who competed at the indoor event will also travel to Norway in August, where the Voss Fallskjermlubb will be the host of the 23rd FAI World Cup of Formation Skydiving. Six of the 19 teams in Slovakia will not compete at the outdoor competition in Norway, as they have either not won/participated at the outdoor qualification events in their respective countries,... News Article Did you know that Whitefish compete for Australia in Norway?
posted: May 22nd, 2023 The recent update from Australia presented the situation of teams from down-under related to the current schedule of international FAI/ISC events. It was based mostly on the perspective of the Australian national teams of the past years. Ripper, Australia's national team in 4-way Open, represented their country at the FAI Outdoor World Championship 2022 and won the national outdoor championship in March this year. No team from Australia traveled to Slovakia for the FAI Indoor World Championship 2023. Kinetix, with Ripper member Sas Di Sciascio in the lineup, and also later with Gary Nemirovsky,... (more)
News Article Did you know that the 4-way Women competition in Slovakia was 4-way at its best?
posted: May 21st, 2023 The NSL Power Rankings in 4-way Women were probably followed by the most unexpected results at the FAI Outdoor World Championship 2022. The latest update on April 11th, little over a week before Round 1 in Slovakia, had moved the reigning outdoor world champions of NFTO to the sole top spot. The French Nephtys, XPG4 and HF Cubs were expected in a tight competition for the other sets of 4-way Women medals, while they would challenge NFTO for the top spot at the same time. Piteraq from Germany, bronze medalist at the FAI Indoor World Cup 2022, would not even be in the competition for medals. The... (more)
News Article Did you know that Ripper won the national outdoor championship title in Australia?
posted: May 19th, 2023 Australia is one of the countries/continents where the annual indoor/outdoor meet agenda does not match easily with the training and meet agenda of any Formation Skydiving competition teams. The NSL News covered the same situation in South Africa a few days ago, after Savolo had won their next national 4-title at the beginning of April. As it happens every year, Australia's national outdoor championship took place while the national teams in North America and Europe, plus Qatar Tigers and INIT-Y from Brazil, were in their final preparations for the major indoor competition of the year, this... News Article Did you know that Red Bull Aerodynamix was the most improved team in Slovakia?
posted: May 18th, 2023 The NSL-TV video coverage of the 4-way Open Class competition at the FAI Indoor World Championship 2023 concludes with two teams who have another geographic connection and finished very close to each other on the leaderboard. Switzerland and Austria are the two countries in the center of one of the most beautiful European mountain chains, the Alpes, and they are bordering each other for over 100 miles. Switzerland was represented by RealFly Fire this time, as the NSL News reported on 29 December 2022. The Swiss CISM team Airheads had competed for their country at the previous indoor world championship... (more)
News Article Did you know that Savolo won their next South African 4-way championship title?
posted: May 17th, 2023 The Formation Skydiving competition world was recently zooming in on the Hurricane Factory Tatralandia in Slovakia for the FAI Indoor World Championship 2023. At the same time, or at least very close to the event, outdoor events took place, as well. It is especially difficult for teams in the southeastern hemisphere to adapt to the worldwide competition schedule that is dominated by North America and Europe. It may have caught the attention of only a few people in the sport that the field of 4-way teams at the indoor world championship did not include national teams from Australia, New Zealand... (more)
