posted: Jan 9th, 2024 The first NSL News preview of the SkyVenture New Hampshire Tunnel Fest 2024 on January 6th was connected to the 20-year anniversary of Mass Defiance, 4-way Advanced Class champion of the USPA Nationals 2005. The story pointed out that the members of the championship lineup of 2005 (Ben Liston, Jim Rees, John Silva, Brian Stephens, Steve Feldman on camera) have returned regularly to the annual indoor event since it was created. The first list of registered teams for this year's indoor competition on January 20th allows a closer look at the teams and their lineups. Four of the Mass Defiance 2005... (more)

posted: Jan 7th, 2024 The NSL News pointed out on January 3rd that Hurricane Factory and iFLY Dallas were heading towards a new Indoor Cloud League showdown. There was a 9-point difference between them (1204 - 1195) at the end of October after ten months of the special monthly indoor competition. It became even closer after the next six sequences of November, when the group of Czech 4-way teams reduced the difference by two more points. News Article Did you know that 4-way Women participation is similar to 8-way Open?
posted: Jan 6th, 2024 Last and not least in the NSL News evaluation of the horizontal Formation Skydiving events is the 4-way Women competition, which has been a part of outdoor world championships since 2001. The introduction of the new event did not separate male and female competitors as the military CISM world championship rules do. It only added the category to the FAI/ISC event format, while Formation Skydiving competition also continued with mixed lineups at the same time. The national teams in the 4-way and 8-way Open Class events still have the option to recruit their members without any restrictions, as... (more)
News Article Did you know that Mass Defiance celebrate a 20-year anniversary at the New Hampshire Tunnel Fest?
posted: Jan 6th, 2024 The NSL News has covered the very special indoor competition of the New Hampshire Tunnel Fest for many years. The preview of the last event at SkyVenture New Hampshire on 10 December 2022 explained the history of the event, which almost came to an end with the corona virus crisis. As many other events, the New Hampshire Tunnel Fest was canceled after record participation in 2019 (41 teams) and just slipping by the pandemic in January 2020 (36 teams). There was no event a year later, and chances were little that recovery would come quickly and easily. However, owners Laurie and Rob Greer decided... (more)
News Article Did you know that 8-way competition has not yet recovered as well as 4-way?
posted: Jan 4th, 2024 The national teams of the United States in horizontal Formation Skydiving competition do not only have a clean participation sheet at world championships since 1985, as the NSL News pointed out with the update on December 28th. The U.S. 8-way teams have dominated the biannual leaderboards even more than the 4-way teams. In fact, only the U.S. delegation had 8-way teams at each of the 20 FAI/ISC events between 1985 and 2022. On top of that, the country's 8-way teams have won medals at each of these 20 world championships, 15 sets of gold medals, five in silver. The 2nd place was the lowest position... (more)
News Article Did you know that Hurricane Factory and iFLY Dallas are heading towards a new Indoor Cloud League showdown?
posted: Jan 3rd, 2024 The NSL News reported in December that the Czech Indoor Cloud League team at the Hurricane Factory had moved closer to iFLY Dallas at the end of September. The iFLY Dallas team had extended the lead at the end of August by 22 points, and Jan Klapka's team in Prague turned it back by 33 points a month later. The difference was down to 29 points (1104 - 1075) before the six October sequences would offer the next opportunity for the Czech group of mostly 4-way junior teams and reduce the iFLY Dallas lead even more. The October results did exactly that, as Jan Klapka' s teams combined for a total... (more)
