Daniele Smythe replaced Crystal Prom for the 2016 season, and NEXT followed up with the gold medals in the AAA/Advanced Class at the USPA Nationals 2016, once again after collecting more competition experiences in the new category at the Midwest Skydiving League meets.
The same lineup continued in 2017 and posted a 17.3 average in 9th place of the 4-way Open Class competition at the USPA Nationals 2017.
NEXT did not come back in 2018. Chris Halsam joined Ranch 2nd Generation (R2G) and lifted his own best average to 18.8 at the USPA Nationals 2018. Daniele Smythe helped AA Class team Hands Free to bronze medals in the Intermediate Class at the same event.
Original NEXT members Megan George and Chris Haslam have joined forces with Lauren Byrd and Greg Oldendick and will add the team's second year in the 4-way Open Class to the team records. Greg Oldendick is a USPA Advanced Class champion by himself. He won with Savage XP and a 17.4 average at the same USPA Nationals where Chris Halsam competed with R2G and Daniele Smythe with Hands Free.
Lauren Byrd competed with Phoenix XP for the U.S. delegation at the FAI World Meet 2018, where Megan George substituted for Morgan Womble who was still recovering from an injury. They were also back together for Phoenix XP at the FAI Outdoor World Cup 2019, where they won bronze medals.
Morgan Womble said that Lauren Byrd brought her new team to Paraclete XP in December, where SDMW NEXT XP performed the two Open Class sequences (AAA - AA) for their Indoor Cloud League team. NEXT tied the highscores in both categories with the Czech teams...
